Program for raw score tracking
I'm sick of the scores on here not being tracked with the raw score, which makes it very difficult to keep track of progress without having to do lots of tedious work taking screenshots, comparing said screenshots against your score every time you play, then taking a new screenshot to "update" the score once it's better.
To get around all of this I'm writing a program that will be a wrapper around a standalone client that launches the client, runs FFR, and then hooks into the network traffic in order to keep track of scores in the raw score format automatically so I don't have to. I've already got the third party library for packet sniffing setup and have figured out the format of all the packet data being sent so now It's just a matter of designing and programming the rest of the infrastructure for the various parts. I'm mainly posting this since I'm curious as to whether or not anyone else has done something similar or if anyone might be interested in getting the program once I get to a point that's usable. It's not going to have omfg beautiful UI or anything since I'm not an artist at all (flat colors and simple shapes ahoy!), so more than likely it'll end up just being a simple tool with very basic functionality for displaying and editing scores. tldr; I'm sick of combo scoring so I'm writing a program to track raw scoring automatically.

Re: Program for raw score tracking
Seems pretty interesting, I'd probably make use of this.

Re: Program for raw score tracking
This actually sounds like a really awesome project, and I'd love to try it out when it becomes usable.
Although this project implies storing scores locally, could there be any sort of way to connect to some sort of make shift leaderboard, or share and compare raw score files with others? I mean if I could do something like that, it would pretty much be like raw scoring was a thing, and the community could all compete to strive for great scores together. It would be a great way to see the actual skill of players when they attack tougher files.

Re: Program for raw score tracking
Seems like a lot of work that should be put towards actually fixing the game for raw scoring.

Eh, just be ready for it to be obsolete at some point.

Also, if this program is fully realized, I can expect it would be quite a long time before it ever became obsoleted by FFR converting to raw scoring itself.

Re: Program for raw score tracking
Honestly, I'm reaching the point where it might just randomly happen any day now because combo scoring is useless.

Who actually started combo scoring in the first place? I want to retroactively punch them in the face.

Also in regards to combo scoring, when FFR first came out, boos actually broke your combo. In order to get a good score, you had to be extremely accurate (1 frame perfect window), have a high combo, and not get any boos. So at least then if you had a high combo / score, you were most likely really good at the song.
