My point about letters is that they should be MEANINGFUL, and the way you guys are talking... they aren't. Our school gave them out ONLY for Varisty sports. And you damn well had to earn it. Had to play a specifc amount of time on Varisty relative to the season to get a letter... and like I said, ceremonies at graduation to celebrate those who were good enough to get alot of letters.

Bowling may not be considered that athletic of a sport, but it still is considered a sport. Robotics, Band, and Choir.... well, we all know they aren't sports. ESPN will show just about ANY sport... but I've NEVER seen any of those 3 on ESPN. Cheerleading... yes, Karate... yes, Fly Fishing.... yes, Sumo.... yes, Gymnastics... yes. Etc, etc, etc.

I'd post a pic to get back on track.... but I have not a new pic to post.

I've seen marching bands on ESPN...

Anyway, robotics is totally not even a physical sport. That's like saying people shouldn't get letters for excellent GPAs or for any sort of honors achievements.

PS Eric, that is headband thing is from the anime Naruto. I imagine it's somewhat standard ninja gear, and that's why that style of headband is featured in both MapleStory and Naruto.

I obtained mine at AnimeNorth. You can probably get them at any convention/store in Japan.

People usually overcharge way too much for those things. You can make your own for a lot cheaper if you care enough.

Man, all of your Highschool's are so much different from what mine is. We were a private school, so we only had the main sports, and no letters were given out for anything academic. I got...9 letters i believe. I played 3 sports all 4 years (I guess some states allow you to play 4 sports a year, but not in michigan.) If i could have played tennis or track, i would've. I played varsity soccer and basketball for 2 years, and varsity baseball for 3 years. Now I'm just a big fat lazy lump of sex.

Joining in the letter debate:

I got a letter for theatre. Damn if you didn't have to have physical prowess, lung capacity, diction and talent if you wanted to make it anywhere in the department.

A hard earned letter, too. You only got it if you did a certain number of shows, learned how to run the lighting board, help build and deconstruct 2 sets... A lot of prerequistes.

Not a sport, but... Damn near close.

Elipses...
