Suck about the tourney, but really nice score Card Man.

Hey guys, wanna know why I'm ready to shoot myself?

-Our only TV has been broken for over a month and a half
-My only FFR/SM-viable keyboard has been broken for over two weeks
-We can barely afford our bills, i.e it means we can't go out anywhere, not even to a movie
-I've played and beaten every game we own over and over
-This town has absolutely nothing to do, the only things we have are shops, restaurants, banks, and large apartment complexes/neighborhoods
-There isn't a single person in this town I know, and the ones that I did are either gone or I don't know where they live
-Nobody in this house knows enough to debate or discuss anything, be it politics, science, or anything else

Yeah.

@ bynary...that's tough. Sorry man.

I hate just observing - I like to suggest something positive. I recommend getting inventive. 'Play' existed long before TV, internet, or even Milton Bradley. Boredom is the true mother of invention. I've invented (and subsequently forgotten) thousands of games. You just need to take some time to plan it out.

Ohh, and 'Read' is good, too. I recommend 'The Time Traveler's Wife,' for quality modern fare. The library is free. And awesome. It's like the internet with less misinformation and porn. Also, they have a wide variety of copyrighted works available for free (often they have movies and music in addition to books).

Mmm...I like parks, too. It's not for everyone. Still, they are free and away from family that you may be ready to kill. Tennis, bikeriding, walking/hiking...all good.

I'm also a lover of card games. Bridge is my favorite...also it would require a few months just to get the hang of it. The mastery of it might take a lifetime (or two). You can learn far less complicated card games that will entertain just as much. Cribbage, pinochle, spades, euchre, etc. Family card games help keep peoples mouths from getting in the way of liking eachother sometimes, too.

The economy is rough right now. Still, frugal living doesn't necessarily mean empty living. I wish you and yours the best of luck.

Thanks for the suggestions. Truthfully, I would instantly jump on the opportunity to do something other than the computer. The issue is:

-The park near us is only inhabited by mothers and their toddler-age children. I've never seen any kids over the age of 7 or 8 there.

-My family is the kind that literally refuses to do anything with each other (or at least me), be it debate, games of any sort, or just normal discussion.

-My neighborhood is the type that has a bunch of teens just huddled inside their houses playing video games. The last time I lived in an active neighborhood (it even had a huge forest nearby that we could explore for hours) was when I lived in New York up until the age of 12. I strongly regret having not spent more time out there despite having been outside many times. Nobody ever comes outside here.

-There is no library near here, and I only have my restricted license so I cannot drive to one. We have lots of books here, but 90% of them are of the fiction/mystery genres. I love reading more than anything, but the few non-fiction books that we have are ones I have read over and over ad nauseum, and I dislike any sort of fiction. The majority of the non-fiction books are several years old.

Trust me, I want to do much more then sit here, but there is always some reason I can't, be it cost, time, or means.

Also, reason being I've known Alex a lot longer and he actually talks to me.
You consistently say you're going to place in the top when I'm not even sure I can and I just got 4-0-0-1 on Night and Day..
thus why I said good luck.

Glad to see some of you guys are still in the tournament.

Hentai, since you're so confident in your ability to succeed in this tournament, I'll make you a little deal. If you make it to at least Round 6, I'll give you 10,000 credits. Sounds good?

Yes, this sounds very interesting, because it will push me even harder!

I'll also make a deal, if I DON'T make it Round 6, I will give you 5,000 credits, because I can't spare that much. =(
