Default All about tournaments help.

I know what your all thinking ''Go read the stickys''
well i did http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...t=66947&page=2

This sticky gives you only the the info. for how to make a tournament.

What i want to know is, what is the reasoning for making a tournament, how it has to go [or should], and does their have to be prizes. I could kept asking diffrent questions but i would like someone in ffr to give me the other details to tournaments.

I was looking at past tournaments and some where locked or blocked and some were not. I was wondering why or how tournaments get locked. I read the sticky http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=83523
but all it is about is not to make other threads and the locked tournaments didnt have other threads. Can i have more rules so i am informed.

This would be helpfull if someone could helpand please inform me if i made errors in this so i could correct them.

Sincerly,
MuzzyKIDS

There are a lot of reasons people make tournaments. Mostly people make them for fun though. Every tournament should have a prize, or else it will fail. Tournaments get locked for sucking hard. If you have no idea what you are doing or are new to the community, chances are it will get locked.

This is an example of a tournament.

Some aren't so complex, but reading that thread will give you the gist of tournament-making.

No, I've never made a tournament. It's too much work. Ask Phynx or EnR about tournaments because they seem to be best at it.

Here's what i told someone when they asked me about being in a tourny:

Playing: Basically the host will use a post to name a song for a division. (In your case you'll be in beginner I think) You play the song and in this tournaments case you want to AA it. (Hit all perfects)

Showing your score: Take a screen shot (Print screen button for most people) or Get out a camera take a picture of your computer screen to where the score is readable, upload it to your computer then upload to photobucket (www.phtobucket.com) use the image code to post it in the thread.

Submitting: When you want to submit the tournament host normally wants either a PM (Private message) or to post in the thread.

Make sure to check back in the thread at least once a day to make sure there are no changes and you're not being eliminated and have fun.

Hosting one is an EnR and Phynx catagory.

well most recently there's been different kinds of tourneys. If you look at two of the stickies, the Omnipwn, Tass's tourney, and also my tourney (non stickie) you'll see that its becoming less about FFR (somewhat)

Anyhow, basically you don't need to be here a long time to make a tourney. I've only really been at FFR for a month or so, and I made my own already.

However, if you make FFR tourneys you should get to know as many songs as possible, and be able to classify them in correct difficulties. you can always ask veterans like EnR for help.
