Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
Aliens give like 25,000 points somehow. Got the hard badge after some frustrating 480,000-490,000 attempts.

y0tta: I wasn't aware they gave so much -- I ate a few aliens by just accelerating out of the water and nomming them as they floated down post-impact

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
I'm not sure what I did differently, but Moby Dick was no problem for me. I got to 500k without even breaking a sweat, I eventually just killed myself at 800k because it was so boring.
I got to 2000 life fairly quickly by spamming the "grow" tablets, I think that might have helped. Also, I didn't bother eating any fish at all. Also, Road of the Dead is terribad. Last edited by Xandertrax; 10-20-2010 at 07:01 PM.. |

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
Road of the Dead is not THAT bad. It just that everything on the game is stupid. I think even some zombies in the game are more intelligent than the military and the random people who likes to run in front of your car.I can't get get the dead on time achv. because of this :/
Moby dick is just luck and patience for me, I keep dying at 400k~ swimming around in circles trying to get a freaking health bubble.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
I enjoyed Road of the Dead quite a lot. Tonight I got to the final boss of Battle Mode in MM2. Disappointing I got so close to the long time coming Impossible badge but I'm confident with making a few less mistakes due to my rustiness of the game I hope to get it by the weekend. I hope.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
I didn't like Road of the Dead much. It was basically a bunch of dying, upgrading, and repeating. The levels near the end were unbearably long and were difficult even with everything upgraded. Felt a little imbalanced in terms of the difficulty ramp.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
The 10km Dead on Time achievement was pretty tough. I liked the challenge though.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
I think jmtb02 has mastered the art of simple gaming: take a stupid, small concept, make it start slow, then make it ramp up to utterly ridiculous in a very short amount of time, but let there be room for optimization. Bam, hit game.
Have an endless loop going in Epic Combo right now, I'm just going to let it run for a while = D |

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
In my opinion, jmtb is the master of casual game development (although he hates the term "casual gaming" in itself. I think it's a valid terminology, personally). A casual game has its own metrics for success, but I think he masters them well.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
Aaah, the satisfaction that only comes with the attainment of an impossible badge. Even more so that it took me over 32 months to get. Farewell Max Mesiria 2, I shall have fond (and unfond) memories of ye.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
Just got Zunderfury impossible badge, it was cake compared to MM2. Just one of those games where I had no motivation to go for it. Now I'm down to SCGMD2 and SCGMD3, lol. Not sure if the motivation to get these will be as intense as the last two.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
Fun fact:
I got the MM2 medium badge on Feb 14 2008. I got the MM2 impossible badge on Oct 24 2010. I got the ZunderFury medium badge on Feb 15 2008. I got the ZunderFury impossible badge on Oct 25 2010. Exactly the same amount of time elapsed between the mediums and impossibles for each game. I thought it was a neat coincidence considering the long, long amount of time I've been putting these off. I got the SCGMD 2 medium badge on Feb 17 2008... Something tells me I won't be able to keep the trend going by perfecting like 6 Pro songs in the next 2 days. Gonna take much longer to get my muscle memory to a decent enough level to reach that achievement.
