Default Back from the Stepmania/DDR Tourney

As many of you know, probably hearing it from arch, there was an SM tourney held on the 25th of this month. Luckily, t3naciousmonk from DDRInfinity and I both made it to the tourney from our town and got to experience both days of it. The first day held the Standard Tourney, S4R (Sudden Shuffle Flat), and an attempt at a stepmania tourney, which was put off until the next day because of only 4 signups. The 2nd day held the Heavy Tourney, Doubles Tourney, Stepmania Tourney, and the Challenge Tourney. Doubles tourney had some of the most insane double scores I've ever seen (Such as one person getting 2 greats FC on Colors Oni), and Challenge tourney had some interesting feats such as getting as close to 59 goods as possible on .59 heavy while still passing. In the Stepmania tourney, 90% of the songs I had never even heard of before, which is probably why I got 4th and Angelo (toastercookie) places 1st. Anywho it was tons and tons of fun and I REALLY did not want to come back home. Incase you're interested, pics are here: http://www.ddrinfinity.com/modules.p...view_album.php

If the pics don't work, that's your problem, not mine. No idea how to fix it. If you're looking for me, I'm the guy in the black beanie with long blond hair.

That tourny looks extremely organized. The last tourny I was at was massive chaos...

Arch has discussed how hard the songs could get somewhere in the Brag Board. Hardest songs are 10 foot

what the hell

don't read stuff and then say something totally false, that's how rumors get started. GOD.

The hardest song in there was like gaussian blur or something.

I think most of the songs picked were really easy though. And he lost by a few greats.

Easy as in starfield easy. Most of the stuff should have been way harder except maybe the first round.

Gaussian wasn't even played. If it was played, I would have gotten first no problem. Otaku Speedvibe wasn't played either.

The songs in order were: Heaven is a place on earth, Cynic's Star Field, Come on my Selector, Felys Long Version, Cynic's Karma, something else. No Nima, these songs should not have been AAA'd by sightreading because you can't understand that Angelo said they were picked at random, and the ones picked had BPM changes. Come on my Selector has some extremely weird streams, jumps, gallops, and combo breakers.

I got out on Cynic's Karma, along with Juni, because I have played it very few times. I hated it, so I never played it again.

The tourney actually took place in Eugene, Oregon, because that's where all the good people are. I'm actually thinking about asking Angelo if I can help out with the next big tourney like this if I can get down there for the next one ^_^

being able to pick your own songs would be so so SO lame.

"LOLOL you play on index's let's play GAUSSIAN BLUR oh I counter with REALITY OMG ROFL"

it'd be like a pokemon battle instead of who can actually be better consistantly.

Maybe...except you could go up against a four-fingered player, who has no weakness for any particular pattern.

Did Dark Sync ever get played? It (the stepfile) was made by the same guy who did Come on My Selector, but it was really freakin' hard...

I couldn't make it the second day, which sucked because I really wanted to watch Doubles/enter Challenge....
