Default Things that should NEVER be requested.

THINGS THAT YOU SHOULD NEVER REQUEST.

Go ahead and sticky this please.

Update: 5/31/07: I've added links so you can see which threads have hosted these bad (Although sometimes thoughtful) requests.

Game-related

Commercial songs/New songs.

This has been asked for one time too many. Synth might be one lucky man, but money doesn't grow on trees. When people try to get permission to step songs for FFR from big-shot artists, they usually ask for large amounts of cash or just say no. This said, don't try to get anyone else to do this for you - YOU want the song, YOU permission, and YOU pay any fees to use it.

Links: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=13400
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ead.php?t=9663

Editing songs in the game

About the only logical explanation I can give you is that Synth and the staff want to keep the songs the same for nostalgic reasons; no matter what the reason, the songs aren't changing unless they feel the need. It doesn't matter if it's all blue, out of sync, whatever - it's not gonna happen, chief.

Link: none.

An offline FFR

There are two reasons this won't work:

1) We've already had an offline FFR, and it just didn't work too well.
2) Part of Synth's budget comes from people entering the site and playing the game. An offline FFR (With FFR songs, mind you) would just defeat the purpose of the site.

Link: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=69063

Endless/Marathon mode

Just won't happen. I'm guessing that it would be too much programming to get around the glitches, and/or it would cause too much traffic.

Link: none.

FFR for consoles

This goes back to the fact that Synth isn't that rich.......yet . Synth has no plans to and probably won't get FFR onto other consoles. This does include cell phones, as DDR somehow has a game for the cell phone.

Link: none.

Links to artists' music

This does tend to get on peoples' nerves. Click here for the music. If it isn't here, try getting in touch with the artist to (possibly) bargain and buy the song(s), or it, quite simply, won't happen.

"Hurry up, FFR staff!" or "Why aren't the stats back yet?"

There have been multiple threads like this (Not all of them in this particular forum), and it's really pig-headed if you ask me. Our staff aren't only working their asses off to make this site and forum function, but are probably doing their best to get to that oh-so-important feature that you're complaining about (They also might have a life outside of FFR. Ever think of that, Ace?). And when someone explains that the staff are doing their best, don't respond with "i kno, but i liek rly want (insert feature here)." It pisses the vets off, particularly when the grammar is that bad.

Link: none.

R2 or Resonance ideas.

For one, R2, as far as I know, is probably abandoned and full of glitches. You'll just have to deal with the problems in there if you want to play that bad. Second, there are already designated threads for each of these games. This suggestion forum is for R1 ONLY. ¿Comprende? Está bien.

Different menu music.

Just won't happen.

Credit bonuses.

Come on, man. You have secret songs and songs that can be purchased. You honestly don't need anymore credit bonuses. Also, it's either too much programming or causes traffic.

You'll notice that I'm using this traffic statement a lot. Keep it in mind for any other suggestions you might have.

Link: none.

Credits in exchange for merchandise.

Merchandise costs enough money already. Trading in credits for merchandise is either two costworthy, too much of a hassle, or both. Earn your merch by the "Come Play With Us" system or buy it yourself like everyone else.

Link: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=67416

"Fix this glitch"

That goes in the bug report forum, Ace.

Forum-related and Misc.

FFRspace

Yes, we have a MySpace-like profile system, but in no form or fashion are we going to transform this site into a MySpace clone. Yes, it does give you a good opportunity to meet people and exchange a word or two, but the site is up for one primary reason: The game. We have enough users staying confined within the profile system already.

Link: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=69083

Anything against the rules of this forum or the site in general.

Need I say more?

To ban certain members.

Don't post it in any other section, either: Either use the report feature or tell a staff member. It gets annoying when someone says "hye guyz liek ban dis dude rite here hes calling meh a emo waaaaah." and when we tell him to stop, he bitches even more. I hate to weed this guy out (Or do I?), but here's a perfect example of this situation. Don't let it happen to you.

New FFR Merchandise

Although it's a grand idea, Synth can't afford much more than the t-shirts. Check in with a vet or staff member and see if it seems like a good idea or simply don't post. Better safe than sorry.

Link: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=69477

Things that have been requested multiple times before, whether we said yes or no.

Not that it's entirely your fault, but there have been many things, good and bad, that have been requested one time too many, particularly the FFRspace one, which just pisses off the vets/regulars. To avoid this problem, consider using the search feature to make sure it hasn't been asked for. It might, however, be accepted by the forums if it hasn't been suggested in a while and is a good idea. If it's bad, just look into your heart, and you'll find the answer.Don't release the dogs!

Link: none.

I'll add more as we go.

Anything you can easily find using the search feature.

In no particular order...

- Downloadable offline FFR
- Endless mode
- Anything that subscribers are currently testing
- Increased FPS
- FFR for consoles
- Song reskins
- Anything that is currently being worked on by programmers
- Links to download artists music
- Suggesting R2 and Resonance ideas in the R1 section
- Different menu music
- Credit bonuses
- FFR credits in exchange for real money and/or merchandise
- Fixing the good-miss glitch
- Fixing 1 framers and such
- Changing song difficulties

I'll add to this as I go on...

EDIT: I laugh everytime I mouse over Doug31 and it says, "Doug31 is invisible"

-FFR sims
-Anything about the secret code box
-Anything else already covered in stickies
-Token 18
-For people on this site to up your come play count
-Anything the rules thread says not to request
-To be unbanned
-For cheated scores above the AAA score to be deleted
-For anything that they're currently working on, like to have players' top 10 level stats put back in profiles, since if they're already working on it, this kind of thing should be fixed without it being requested.
-Asking how to cheat
-Anything any of the above posters say
-More stuff that I just can't think of right now

"fix this glitch". That goes in Bugreport.

"Release Vertex Beta vrofl to the public". No. It's never happening. EVER. I will personally delete the file for good before I ever allow it to be publically released as a permanent addition to the game.

"Ban this person". PM a mod, don't post that here.

Also, it's ok to suggest stuff that's been suggested before, so long as it wasn't suggested recently.

Looks like I have a lot to edit. I was trying to avoid stuff that might've been noted before.

I'll hop to it.

Nice word usage there. You are pretty much stating that this is already a sticky. I'm not sure if that's supposed to help your cause or just because you believe this thread is that awesome. The sentence should have been "I'd also like to take the time to remind you that you should also read the stickies", as your thread isn't yet a sticky.

Or at least just say "Sticky this please".

Though I do admit this is a good thread and I hope it does grow.

Quick suggestion though. How about breaking it into sections. I.E. "Game-Related Questions", "Forum-Related Questions", etc.

"Different menu music.

Just won't happen."

You know, that <i>could</i> happen. That one's not a tough one to change. So if Synth wanted to change it just for the hell of it, he could easily do so. Not a hassle at all.

Spinal has probably used the search feature and made sure this wasn't possible. My computer's in no condition for searching, so if you really want to, you can go ahead and look as well.

Sorry if I sound like an attention whore for mini-bumping this thread = P.

Anyway, I'm also putting links under the categories that link to example threads. I have very few of these, so it'd be most appreciated if any of y'all had any other links to put up there.

Coming from front page.
Quote:
Over the last few weeks we’ve mainly been adding harder songs to the game. Giving the experts more fun but leaving the newbies to sit crying and waiting for easier simfiles to play. Well, starting now we’ll be releasing some easier simfiles for a couple weeks to make up for this. So don’t expect a huge challenge out of the SOTWs for the next couple weeks.

So ya they are making more "noob friendly" songs so you might wanna edit that out.

I'm saying, by writing all this stuff like a guide, and saying "go ahead and sticky this" and assuming that they will do it. You seem to be saying that you have more power or influence then other members that write a pretty little guide and say "hey, sticky this real quick".
