How to Make A Decent “General Video Game” Thread
How to Make A Decent “General Video Game” Thread
This is going to be the forum in which users will be able to post reviews and previews for video games and products based on video game franchises. When creating reviews, please keep these guidelines in mind: * Obviously, submissions have to review a video game or a consumer item based on video games and have to be the original work of the user. However, if you do choose not to make your own review and want to copy and paste one that has already been published by someone else on a different website, please use common sense and Cite It! E.g. A review of a game was copied and pasted from GamePro.com: The game was "Nintendo DS Review: Yoshi's Island DS". You want to give the title of the game, the URL of the location of the review(s), and the month of the review published. “Nintendo DS Review: Yoshi's Island DS" ; http://www.gamepro.com/nintendo/ds/g...ws/86048.shtml ; 11/2006 You would do the same thing for previews. * Reviews and reviews must be longer than 175 words, but shorter than 1,000 words. * If you are going to review a game or accessory, please post the date the game or accessory has already come out at the end of you review. * If you are going to preview a game or accessory, please post the date the game or accessory will be coming out at the end of your preview. * Please use proper English. That means typing "you are" instead of "ur," for example. Also, please use a spellchecker before submitting a review. Minor errors and a small number of grammatical hiccups are no big deal, but submissions that have a huge number of errors won't be accepted. * Please be tasteful in your reviews. Foul/vulgar language and unnecessary insults will not be tolerated. * Do not spoil any storyline segments, plot twists, etc., in your reviews. If you spoil any storyline segment, you will be punished by being whipped a total of five times. * You will need to give your review a final score. Dividing game elements up and reviewing those as well (graphics, sound, control, etc.) may be done but is not necessary. You do not have to include your review figures into your overall word count. Feel free to give bad reviews, but be critical, not insulting. All elements should be graded with scores from 1 to 5: 5 - Amazing. Buy this game damn it! 4 - Great. The game has some problems, but is still great overall. 3 - Average. The game does nothing exceedingly well but is still playable and would be enjoyed by some. 2 - Fair. Rent this game first just to be safe. 1 - Poor. Stay away from this game at all costs. *To submit a review, create a new thread with the title containing the following information - the format of the review's item ("Playstation 2 Review:" for a Playstation 2 game, "Tekken 4" for the game title, etc.) followed by the title of the item. For example, if I were going to review Yoshi's Island DS for the Nintendo DS, my title would be "Nintendo DS Review: Yoshi's Island DS." Quote:
If you have any questions in regard to reviews or previews, please PM me and I will do my best to answer them. The front page will be updated with questions that were asked and answers that were made. *Sticky?* ~madmatt621 www.madmatt.net Last edited by madmatt621; 08-9-2007 at 10:12 AM.. |

Wait what.
Since when has GVG become Review Central? "General Video Games Talk about anything from the Intellevision to the X-Box here. All home, portable and arcade games can be discussed in this forum." |

So we're not allowed to just discuss games? We have to preview or review a game to post here?
Is this for Rithum or something or are you just trying to take over GVG? |

PS: I like how this thread breaks every rule.

So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =( In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz. So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright. And I write the blog for their website. Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O |

Madmatt, stop copying and pasting entire topics from Rithum. Like I said in your other thread, no one here wants to review or preview or whatever the fuck else here.
