Default So, windows 7 came out

So what are peoples opinions on windows 7? I got my pirated copy to activate and so far I'm pretty happy with it. Waiting for theme changers to come out because I don't like the taskbar and thick bars at the top of windows and big exit, min, max buttons. Other then the look it has been running smoothly and doesn't give me any **** even with UAC still on.

I'm surprised on of these threads was just created today rather than Thursday. I'm likely going to get a new laptop with it, should I downgrade to XP or do you think I should stick with 7? Mainly for FFR xD But feel free to project other concerns.

I just got Windows 7 on my brothers computer, it works amazingly well, no problems with it so far, I suggest getting it.

Mine still doesn't work for stepmania ffr, but I have a feeling it has something to do with the specific hardware I have. Didn't on vista either and for some reason I can not get windows XP to install on this pc. Even if you change everything in the PC a dell motherboard/bios really ****s you over. I'm also suprised no one made a thread yesterday.

I am getting a free copy of Win7 in the mail here in a few days... my computer is pretty souped up, so I am hoping that 7 > Vista

Allow me to present my chart once again. This chart is strictly for SM / FFR players.

XP > Windows 7 > Windows Vista

SM works just dandy on 7.

FFR not so much unless you're wielding a pretty high-powered machine.

Installed it a few days ago, and my machine magically became quiet. It makes me feel as though I had my XP configured horribly.

I think what happened is that you had some drivers not installed correctly and with window 7's massive library of preinstalled drivers it just fixed that issue for you.

I can't wait for Win7... will let you all know how it goes.

My system right now: i7 920 overclocked to 4.5 GHz, Gigabyte UD4P mobo, 12 GB OCZ Gold 1600 MHz RAM, Quad-SLI GTX 295 Video Cards

I was thinking the same thing, specifically my GPU. The fan on it was blaring pretty much constantly, even without anything intensive going on.

Damn, I'm jealous. =( 4 graphics cards is a bit excessive, but I'd do it to if I had the money.

Well it's two graphics cards, but each GTX 295 is a dual-GPU card that is already a sort of SLI in itself -- so two 295's is considered quad SLI

I have an win7/XP dual boot currently, but I haven't booted into XP since I installed 7. Perhaps I'll do a test or two.
