DDR Pad
I bought a pair of iON Metal pads.
How do you make them work on Stepmania?

Re: DDR Pad
This pad comes with a direct USB connector as well as a PS2 connector.
The direct USB is recognized, but as an unknown device. The PS2 + Super Joy Box 5 Pro PS2-USB adapter does not recognize it either.

Re: DDR Pad
Did you try and see if it gave input anyway? Just a hunch

Re: DDR Pad
Certain USB ports didn't allow recognition, while others did. Not sure why, but I found 2 of 4 that do, so I'm good. Thanks guys.
I played TPP today. My first impression of DDR: Sweat is sticky. I sweat like 10x faster than I do FFR. I guess most people don't play FFR til they start sweating anyway <_< Now, all I am is short on pad files. (I have a bunch of DDR mixes, like 20 packs, but my family doesn't like most of the songs <_<... which leaves only the DDR Anime Mixes and TPPs as playable material.)

Re: DDR Pad
My family is probably going to force me to make other files (Songs that I like, like from OSTER Project and Hanawakusei (thank you omgitznpv))... so I'll give you a heads up when I get a few songs done. =) However... I don't really know what constitutes steppable material for DDR, even after reading Xiao's tutorial. I'm at a loss there.

Re: DDR Pad
For now, I play based on song more than stepchart. I don't really know the proper way to do certain patterns yet (I mean, I started today... come on). So, I can't properly judges padfiles. Moreover, unlike KBfiles, the stepchart never goes exactly with the music to a reasonable degree to my ears... so I'm at a loss for grading stepcharts too.
I will experiment as I make my own files. Until then, I have to practice to attain a reasonable level of mastery. I have not played the Crow's Newspaper. <_<

Nice pass on my Voyage 1969 file on Heavy, Ein. But honestly, I hated most of my files in TPP1. Particularly Voyage 1970 (that was a dump file yet it still got in the pack, what). 1969 was okay but repetitive. Sleepless Night in the Eastern Country was my only alright file (try it out if you want). Oh and I pretty much ruined Shoujo Koukai with the measures I stepped. You can obviously tell which parts I stepped as compared to Xiao's parts, rofl. Oh well. I'll spend more time on my TPP2 submissions. /rant

Re: DDR Pad
So I set up my DDR pad tonight. Played a few 9 footers. I'd forgotten how fun it was!!! X3 Can't remember the pack, maybe Ethereal Rising, but there was this holy crap stream song! LOVE IT. <3
We'll have to play SMO Midday :3 btw Midday are you using SM 3.95? You should, some stepfiles don't work on the other versions. xD

Re: DDR Pad
my shameful secret is that I play ddr with a soft pad that doesn't even work
I broke it after a month and now after the first 30 seconds or so on any given day of play it registers tons of ghost hits so I just leave it disconnected and turn on autoplay :3
