Dust: An Elysian Tail
So this game just came out on steam yesterday...
I really havent played computer games much lately because very few actually hold my interest, but this one is so amazing. It's a 2D action rpg, with the major highlights of the game being the gorgeous art style/graphics and the soundtrack. Both are super immersing, and never once became stale to me the in 8 hours that I played. The gameplay is also very fun. Attacks are very fluid and chaining attacks together is easy and effective. I'm playing on normal mode (There are 2 harder modes) and I'm having a fair challenge with it(Then again Im kind of a scrub with these games) so I assume Hardcore would kick most peoples asses. This game also came out in the Xbox arcade last year apparently so some of you may have already played it. Anyone else played this game/plan to play it? Also ignore the fact that fur******ry is the reason I originally bought the game. Also Fidgit is a cutie

Re: Dust: An Elysian Tail
I googled the game just to see what it looked like and this was one of the first images that popped up:
Honestly after checking out some reviews the game doesn't look half bad from a mechanical/gameplay side (even though I am not a fan of 2D action games usually) but my god the fur******ry is strong in this one

Re: Dust: An Elysian Tail
looks decent (seems very nice graphically also okay voice acting) but i feel alienated / not the main audience. if it goes for super cheap i still may give a try though
gameplay looks pretty neat too. graphics is really what is impressive on this one though. Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 05-25-2013 at 05:26 PM.. |

Re: Dust: An Elysian Tail
i'm enjoying it personally more for the gameplay, not the furry aspect actually
the foxbat thing is annoying as hell though, but it's nice that there's actually personality to assign to the characters. It's not entirely flat personalities which is a nice fresh breath of air in gaming |

There are a lot of very good games out there that don't interest me in the slightest, this one falls into that category it seems.

Re: Dust: An Elysian Tail
finished this just now. beautiful.
although, the one qualm is, during the actual cutscenes, the animation is a bit...well, compared to the rest of the game, much more clunky :/ i'd have hoped that the cutscenes would be perfectly beautiful, but it seems very anime-amateurish. same goes with the way most of everyone's mouths are animated, although that probably couldn't be helped outside of cutscenes. also, during the final cutscenes, dust's voice actor was a bit....bleh. but good game. 9/10 for me, because gameplay+mechanics and exploration was beautiful, as well as most of the graphics and the majority of voice acting |
