Uh, it's the guitar that comes in. It's called The Joker Theme or Suite or something on the soundtrack. It sounds like a siren.

The only time I ever went woah at Heath's acting was when he was doing the Why so Serious? bit.

Other than that, I didn't really see the OMG THAT WAS AMAZING stuff that everyone keeps talking about.

Also, if anyone from the movie deserves a Best ____ Award, then it would have to be Two Face. It's much harder to be a round character (overall attitudes change during the course of the movie) than a flat one (attitudes don't change) and Two Face definitely was round while Joker was flat.

Joker was flat.
I've considered expressing this sentiment myself, but couldn't bring myself to it. No matter how flat the character is, the portrayal is amazing and pretty spot on. But the reason for that is simple: the Joker is not a complex character. He's a homicidal maniac who has an illogical personal vendetta against Batman. The only way they could have even come close to having a touch of depth would have been a fully faithful adaptation of the Killing Joke (at least the joker's origin anyway), but that doesn't do the character justice. The audience shouldn't associate this character with humanity. He should be flat. This is why the climax of the film plays out as it does, the plot proves that Joker's idea that everyone is just like him deep down is wrong.

Honestly, if I had to nitpick anything about his performance it was his delivery of the "why so serious" line. It was a great delivery, but it didn't fit the character perfectly like everything else. I would have rather seen a derangement in his eyes and possibly a cackle or something. Some sort of direct indication that he wasn't so serious.

Yup.

Or the irony of the firetruck on fire in the semi truck chase scene.

PS: Morgan Freeman should have been batman.

For once, I have to dis agree with calling a movie overated. The movie was all that and a bag of chips. I enjoyed the realistic dark spin on batman.
