What do you want for yourself in the future?
To counter act the "What do you miss" thread, I'm more interested in looking towards the future, rather than dwelling on the past. Where do you see yourself say 10 years from now? 20? Or better yet, where do you want to see yourself? Where do you see the world? America? New inventions?
As for myself, I see me unloading stuff all day. Maybe a dock worker of some sort. For low pay. With a one bed room apartment. And I'm probably a heavy drinker. It's not what I want, it's just what I predict. What I WANT on the other hand, is to be a criminal psychologist with 3 kids, a house, and married. For the 20 year one, lol. Anyway, what about you guys? |

Re: What do you want for yourself in the future?
well i have gotten together with my best mate and we have decided, that when we are 20, we will fly over to america and go on a road trip through all the states so thats something im looking forward too.
job-wise, i predict myself playing pro tennis. i am very serious about tennis, and i love it. im only 14 atm and Im already in the top 10 in my state for my age. so im really hoping i make it in. if i dont...i guess ill be in the building industry. probably bricklaying or painting. who knows. in the far future i would like a happy wife, 2 kids, a huge house, no debt, and heaps of money lol RETIRE FTW

Anyways, 10 years from now, I'll be 30...so, I will have already been in the work force for about 5 years. I'll have my Master's in Aerospace Engineering, and hopefully be working for Scaled Composites out in the Mojave Desert. I really, really, really want to do civil space (i.e. put normal, regular people in space for a brief time just to experience it). I also hope I have my student loans payed off at this point, and if things go the way they're supposed to, I can do this with the help of my parents letting me live at home rent free for the first few years I'm out of college, lmao. We'll see how practical this is in the future. 20 years from now, I hope to be a well established engineer with a very satisfying and intellectually stimulating job, a nice house on some acreage in Tehachapi, an excellent retirement fund/nest egg, a happy and successful marriage, and a couple little foils running around the house. |

Re: What do you want for yourself in the future?
to the above posters, make sure youre ready to have kids. im celebrating my daughters 1 year today and trust me, they take ALOT of time and money. sleepless nights, bitchy wives, and the dreadful labor and delivery. Not to mention staying in the hospital for 48hrs.
but back to the main subject, i would like to make a career in law. Maybe a cop or firefighter perhaps. and then would like a 2 story house.

PS3, it's all I've really been thinking about since it came out.
P.S. Me and my friend are also going on a road trip, except it's on his senior year. |

I wanted to say this, but then I noticed that the topic title wasn't phrased correctly.

If all goes well, touring with a band and releasing a body of music.

Re: What do you want for yourself in the future?
Living alone in an isolated apartment building. Sounds perfect to me.
EDIT: As for non personal things: I would like to see more space exploration. Perhaps more projects like the LHC as well. Last edited by Kekeb; 02-17-2009 at 07:09 PM.. |

Seriously though, whenever you buy a big-screen TV, your wife makes you buy a cabinet that costs more than the TV, just because "it looks nice," when in reality, the stand that the TV comes with not only looks fine, it actually is better for plugging and unplugging cords. I don't hate kids, but the way I view it, I really don't want to have to worry about them. So yeah. |

In a box, in debt with drug dealers. That would be something new for me.
