You time plays extremely sloppy to me (really wish icys was ingame over it), doppelganger and d7s fIle were damn fun though.
The fast stream things in d5s file kinda ruined it for me, the jumpstream outside of that flowed pretty well.

rolls are the WORST patterns you could ever use for a song like this, and 180 bpm is an awkward bpm to jumptrill 32nds

Icy's file is 90% jumptrillable roll walls. I'm pretty sure there's several hundred of that kind of file in the game already.
Also the remaining 10% is stuff that would just not work in FFR at all, like 48th rolls transitioning out of or into split jumps...
And let me remind you that the song is 180 bpm, so the rolls would have long frame gaps like Skeletor.

I mean I'm fine with you not liking my file for it - it's clearly going to be a polarizing file - but I'm really not a fan of putting another generic jumptrillable roll file to a song with so much more potential.

This is a pretty valid complaint though, I actually feel the same way.
Not sure why so many say this is their favorite file from me but hey, people like it, I'm not complaining. Just wish I better understood why lol

D1 - Simple and fun
D2 - Was ok, probably won't play it again after I AAA it
D3 - Lagged, ill try later.
D4 - Lol this file would be so rage if I was D4.
D5 - Been waiting for this file, slightly harder on FFR tho ffff, D5 should feel honored to get eliminated by this.
D6 -
D7 - Understepped in some parts, more annoying then hard truthfully.

You Time - I like this file. It's fast and doesnt seem very jumptrillable so I know a lot of people are gonna suck playing it

Incredible song choice, patterns flow nicely, has a lot of variation in it, it is interesting(very valuable imo) etc.

Just wish it played a little better on the FFR engine. That dense jumpstream near the end is very hard to read.

If the rolls would have long frame gaps, it would make it really hard to jumptrill it (I know at least OWA would be able to do that shit) making it not really 'another generic jumptrillable roll file' also considering there's some variation to the patterning in Icy's version.

Any potential the song has I feel is wasted by all the awkward 32nd patterning. You can have smooth stream patterning without it being a straight up roll, just seems to me you made the patterning really awkward just to have the file reach a 90 difficulty having no regard to how it could play, while other parts of the file could have had more done with it (like the intro before the 32nds start) and feel empty not consistent with the rest of the file. Just my opinion though.

Don't jumptrill them then?

If you time was all rolls, how interesting or fun could that be (note: boring as fk)? If you want rolls there's Devour, necropotence, little god channel, within life, etc. Not everything has to be dumb downed to rolls.

EDIT: Lets not forget about Future invasion or Milky Blue that could be immensely more fun yet much harder without roll patterns.

also for everyone who disliked You Time: I think I gave it the highest rating out of all of the judges who judged it, so hate me for it.

It has value as a FFR chart because there aren't a lot of files that actually stress speed in super high-speed bursts like this. It takes skill to actually hit these consistently as opposed to sitting there and rolling/jumptrilling.

Didn't say anything about making the entire file rolls, not sure where you guys are getting that.

Smooth patterns are based around rolls because of how they roll of your fingers.

Except there's also already plenty of files with framerfucked rolls in FFR. It's not particularly unique either way.

Mirror is not pattern variation.
And fast rolls going into split jumps for no reason is not good pattern variation, at least for FFR

Because you said you wanted icy's file and his file is literally all rolls.

I had no set difficulty in mind when I made the file.
And I mostly made the patterns so that they were comfortable only if you were fast enough to hit them.
