Considering the obvious drawbacks of just making someone that requests it an admin, I think that would be an overall better solution.

I'd support arch getting back into the admin groove, if only for a little while

Just make him an admin. He has TGB watching him and keeping him in check, but we really need a forum admin who is on our page as the old guy's community

Lol do people really think who should be made an admin shouldn't be a serious thing? You must not've made you own forums before. If you did and put a ton of hard work into them, and valued what you had done, you'd be sure to be very careful who you made an admin. They can easily and very significantly mess the whole thing up. This site probably has some backups in order to help prevent that, but I wouldn't know for sure. But I'm sure an admin could still mess it up in some ways if he/she wanted to.

I have to agree with devonin, it doesn't really seem like admin is necessary here. Rearranging the forums or revamping user titles is something that would need to first go through discussions including the current staff anyway - so why not just make a suggestion thread about the topics? The rest sounds like you want a global moderator position.
... not that my opinion really matters, I've thus far refrained from managing the community/forums because I feel like I'd be overstepping certain boundaries.

Since... no other admins are doing it... probably ever...
Things will indeed change. R^3 is still in beta though, some stuff needs to happen before it becomes the official engine.

Hang out in the R^3 thread then, the whole point of it was to make the engine development public and more open to instant player feedback as it's created

I totally forgot that thread even existed, I don't see it on the homepage sidebar often, so I often neglect its existence

Why don't we just collect all the major admins of the off spin sights that made an impression and make them admins?

Or how about we just let arch speak for all the admins.

Simple: the forum staff is lazy as fuck, the Arch wants to tackle all these issues
