Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
stavie33's pms are disabled so I need to post this here ok
Quote:
as a stylistic issue, it starts with 30 whole seconds of 4ths. don't know what to do about that though 56.513, 62.450, 65.451, 68.451, 75.451, etc: the hi hat minijack starts on the blue note, not on the yellow note. move the minijack up by a 16th each time 72.013 on: feels a bit bland, needs piano or hihat expression or something. then it suddenly cuts out in 79.138? 86.638: missed an 8th bass drum just after this 96.013 on: has the same problem as earlier in that the hihat minijacks should go blue yellow not yellow red. also it's suddenly easier from here on in 129.013 on: the new percussion that comes in isn't expressed? 147.013: you missed 16ths here, it should be 16ths until beat 3 of this measure. something like 323212341 for the melody 149.263 needs two straight beats of melody again. something like 432121231 for the melody 162.013 on: layer the chiming that comes in 165.388: should be five notes long not four 166.513: definitely not 64th gallops 168.013: fill the gap with hihat steps or something 171.013 on: feels understepped but it's your call, I mean there isn't anything I'd particularly want to layer but it feels like it needs -something- over all the technical accuracy is a lot better (just fix that consistent mistake with the hihat minijacks) but it is kinda cookie cutter overall, if you want to submit it go ahead mosaic.wav song 3.901: are these jumps or single notes, make up your mind 9.185: melody here is wrong: should go 8th8th8th8th gap three 16ths 8th. what's that 24th **** rofl, the 16ths start on the blue note before it and they're definitely not fast enough for 24ths 14.470: correct this the same way you corrected the first time this part of the melody came up, also you forgot a blue jump on this exact 8th 11.913: 16ths should start here not on the 8th after blah blah. okay this has problems like inconsistent stepping of percussion instruments (plus things like, is a constant stream of bass drum to be stepped as stream or as consecutive minijacks?) 44.640 on is lol. straight hands, really? and then a 16th stream full of clusterjumps. don't layer blindly, try and be at least a little innovative and expressive and keep the difficulty constant and etc. really just try and focus on the most interesting things you notice coming and going in the song as opposed to the same generic overarching fundamental pattern that's been going for the whole time I don't feel like looking at any more anyhow hth

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
just from the couple stavie files I've played, the main issue is less of technicality and more of style. it's partly that the songs aren't great but it's mostly because of

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
well yeah, it's called technicality when you focus on a pattern that repeats over and over at the expense of other sounds that come and go right?

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
I'm almost tempted to send in Trisection v2.
It's a very high 12 as it stands, with really, REALLY intense layering... Not to mention that it may be the absolute toughest file under 2:30 other than RATO (but that doesn't count, since it's not a file ) ...But you guys don't want another layer dump on FFR... especially if Rubix has no chance of AAA'ing it. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Salad for your Tuesday v2.
PS: Jimerax or someone cool, if you have the mp3 I already have the file almost perfectly down in a .sm file, if you could send me that mp3 I would so give you collab credit. Oh, and 1900+ notes in a 2:24 file = Rubix can't AAA. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
That's not even a sentence; why would I use a capital letter or a punctuation mark? And why would you? because "grammatically fixed" isn't a sentence.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
I'm not really sending in Trisection v2... at least, not the overlayered dumpfest I was mentioning.
I have a (slightly) lighter version... about 1500+ notes. |
