Re: Misc. fitness discussion thread
training frequency won't really influence growth as long as the volume and recovery periods are scaled
no pro bodybuilders to my knowledge train the same muscle group every day; that's more for cementing CNS (aka strength after you've grown the muscle) |

The folks who "lift heavy" in general and have the most terrible form imaginable. Idc what you lift if your form is shit. Yea you squat xxx but dont hit parallel, bench bar doesnt touch the chest your deadlift is 99% on the way to a chiropractor. I stopped heavy lifting after football related injuries, most of my workouts are lighter weight high rep for that reason. But the "meatheads" who wannabe are daily entertainment. |

It gets thrown around a lot that 'As a natural, you need a high training frequency for GROWTH' Bullshit. Period. Particularly on the growth aspect. For strength? That I do agree on. As a natural, if you want to be strong, you should train frequently. For size? Meh. If anything I've never ever trained legs more than 1x a week and have tree trunks down there. My quads are 26 inches around right now and I have a big ass. Buying dress pants really sucks. My legs aren't that *strong* though, so there's that. I've had injuries though and concentrate more on flexibility/mobility and leg health now though rather than strength, so right now I'm @ a sad 295x5 deep squat. Frequency if you want to be strong. If you don't care, 1x a week is enough for growth assuming you apply a lot of volume and progressive overload in conjunction with appropriate diet.

Re: Misc. fitness discussion thread
i only train my muscles once a week, except legs i do those twice a week. one time on a quad focus, the other on a hammy focus.

Re: Misc. fitness discussion thread
static stretches throughout the day that literally exhaust the psoas muscles and all the other ones that connect my hipflexor to my spine.
i do dem stretches after a warm-up run and before lifting and it's helped immensely edit- ovious signs of APT are, 'why the fuck does my lowerback hurt everytime i dead/squat/clean heavy? am i not stretching/warming up enough? i swear i am jeez' and 'wow my ass looks unnaturally big all the time' and lastly 'i'm literally not doing anything but sitting in my chair why does my lowerback/spine hurt??' Re: Misc. fitness discussion thread
Yeah just keep working at it! I never thought I would be able to even do one lol. I mostly do bicep curls and push ups so those help with doing chin ups. Once you can do chin ups though it's such a great workout. My arms and abs were really sore for a couple of days.
