No, vertical is one where you lie on your back and and bring it to your chest. It's super intense, was going to say "So the guys at my gym who are cock diesel strong as shit dont go that heavy, how the fu-"

Hit 500 for reps and 1260 leg press reps again yesterday.

Yeah those are standard leg press machines, can raise the angle on the back support, 825 is still a good lift on it, assuming you go to at least a 90 degree angle. 300lb calf raises is good as long as you go till failure. (The average machine weight is +60lb on whatever plates you add)

Been going as heavy as possible on calves lately. Put 500 lb on the bar for standing calf raises the first time and hit 8 clean reps with a solid squeeze at the top no problem.

That kind of weight scares me. First time I've seen the bar bend so badly like that. Could barely keep it on my shoulders. haha

Was good to get back in the gym though. Missed my workout saturday because of the blizzard. FML

I like to do heavy donkey calf raises, myself. get a better stretch if I'm elevated off something so I can drop all the way down.

Got a 2 hour deep tissue massage, it broke up all the shit that was impinging my shoulders. Expect crazy things!

my swole ended up on the dentistry website

prettiest girl guide you will ever see

With that said my bench has been stalled @ 215 for forever now.

Can't. Break. It.

Any ideas? :S

I'm still gaining weight slowly so it's not an issue of eating enough. Incline DB press and OHP are showing progress but haven't been able to budge the flat bench in about a month!

is that 215 for reps or max? Do you ever do Plyometric exercises? I would try that, when I was stuck on bench I added them and increased around 20 pounds

Have you checked your form? I fixed my form and it went up. Grip the bar at a suitable width for you, then squeeze it like you're gonna bend that bitch.

Plyo push ups are great for teaching explosiveness on bench.

215x7

I usually push my bench to 8 reps and then immediately up the weight, at which point I'll drop to 6-7 reps and continue again from there. Been locked out at barely making 7 reps on 215 for a month now despite progressing pretty much everywhere else. I tried moving to 220 at one point but that didn't help any. Reps went down, and when I went back to 215 I was still stuck.

I'm up for trying anything, so it's worth a shot. Might just drop it and substitute another exercise for awhile too (decline bench maybe?)

This is more or less a desperate cry for help, but can anybody here run a 200 under 25? I'm slow as balls and I need to get faster.

New to the site, but I am a gym fiend...a fat one right now, but I love lifting, used to swim and play rugby in college. Coached both sports post college and now have a desk job that feeds me awesome food.

5'10" 205 lbs. 36" waist. trying to get back down to 175-180, but unsure if its even possible anymore.

bench 265 x 6, squat 425 x5, deadlift 385 x 4.

Arkuski:

Interval train, get on a track or treadmill, jog 1:00, max sprint 30 secs. rinse and repeat for 12 min or longer. Your over time your jog will get much faster as will your sprint.

Reach:
i suggest reverse pyramidding your sets for a month or so. Start at max weight, go 8 reps or to failure. Drop 10 lbs, go 8-12, etc. Go 90secs-120secs in between sets. If you ever get past 12 reps on one of your lower weight sets, you are ready to bump up. I feel like the 215-225 mark is a hurdle for a lot of people I know. I think a lot of it is mental, but don't be afraid to decrease your reps at a higher weight for a week or so in order to bump up.

Whenever I hit a wall like that, I go do different exercises for a few weeks, go back and hit it again. usually a little weaker at first, but then it explodes.
