Re: Conficker-Anyone hear about it?
I think SpySweeper and my Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate Edition would likely have terminated the worm long ago if I ever had it. Both of those programs stay up-to-date regularly, with SpySweeper often popping up in the middle of me doing something and lagging me to death.
Anyways, I usually don't get spyware/malware, but I still feel safe, and I never really gave Conficker a lot of credit to begin with. I don't think it hurts anyone to err on the side of caution, but some of the fear is a little misplaced. By the way, here's an update about the virus: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,512000,00.html Quote:

Re: Conficker-Anyone hear about it?
What kind of sh*t is foilman going to get from Archelos now that he is quoting Fox News?
Back on topic, from what I understand this worm is targeting most of the western half of the world. For the most part people are worrying over nothing. I believe the worm would target businesses rather than home computers.

It does not matter where the hell you obtain news from, so long as you, the individual reading said news, are able to discern whether or not what you're reading is bull****. If you can do that much, then it should not matter at all where you pick up your news from. If you can't do that, then yeah, you're likely to form an opinion about the news sources available to you. Articles from FOXNews are equally as bad as they are from any other news conglomerate. No one station is better than the other. Now kindly get back on ****ing topic. Thank you. And Archelos is welcome to give me ****, so long as it's done privately. I really don't want to get banned. Last edited by foilman8805; 04-1-2009 at 12:55 PM.. |

Re: Conficker-Anyone hear about it?
Way to sensationalize sensational journalism you giant hypocrite. This is also so wrong on so many levels I can't even begin to explain how horrified and disgusted I am. Get the **** off the internet and go outside and get some ****ing clue about what's going on in the real world.

Re: Conficker-Anyone hear about it?
A lot of content for news sites comes from Reuters, or the AP, so I'd say that the sources are generally the same. The websites may decide to feature some differing content, but overall, I'd say the vast majority of information coming down the tubes to us is from mostly similar sources.

I could just as easily say that CNN or MSNBC is notorious for inaccurate reporting as well. I'm of the mind that news stations are allowed to make mistakes, but if FOXNews does nothing but disseminate false information as you seem to indicate, then by all means, show me the light. lol |

And yes, you are still a hypocrite. But hypocrites never seem to understand their own hypocrisy, funny how that works isn't it? You also presume that I presume you have no knowledge of the real world, which makes you pretentious according to your own logic, especially since I did not, you just twisted my words and "presumed" as such. You can have all the facts and knowledge in the world and still be completely clueless. Also, who the **** are you? |

Re: Conficker-Anyone hear about it?
I just think it's funny because a.) you won't back up your **** and b.) I presented a harmless article devoid of any politics, or opinions that was relevant to the topic at hand (Conficker) and you say my source is bad and notorious for presenting false information. Did you read the bottom of the article? It said this:
The Associated Press contributed to this report. I just thought it was rather out of line to question my source when all ****ing news stations utilize the Associated Press. The article was just stating some facts that had been discovered. That's it. You'll likely find the same **** on CNN or MSNBC too. And don't bother wasting an hour to put together resources to prove me wrong. I wouldn't read it anyways because of how absolutely intolerant you are to someone else's opinion if it's not your own. I'm not trying to start **** with you, because I do respect you as a member of this community, but don't expect me to let you say such opinionated **** and just get away with it. We can agree to disagree in this case just like we did in that alcohol thread ages ago. Cool? |
