Like I've said in the other thread, there are many variables from one computer to another, so blaming Vista is not the way to go.

As mentioned previously, the biggest culprit is probably Flash.

As someone who codes in Flash frequently, I'll be the first to say that it is among the most horrible coding environments ever. Right above Assembly language.

NOTHING works like it's supposed to in Flash.

That said, you could try downgrading Flash or (obviously) playing in low quality.

Well, that's a little different. Assembly was never supposed to really be user-friendly. No reason to use code that low-level. C and its derivatives are plenty low-level enough to accomplish pretty much anything you want.

Excuse me? Assembly is plenty user friendly! You just have to know what you're doing. That's like saying the command line is not user friendly. It's more user friendly than almost all apps out there.

I do know what I'm doing, and it's for a reason. I'm plenty familiar with programming and I don't have a phobia of command lines as I've been around since the dawn of the modern GUI era, but thank you. I just happen to like the conveniences something like C++ provides. What reason have you to be coding in assembly?

There is clearly an issue with vista or its drivers when using flash or ffr. Not a hardware issue.

As for putting xp on your laptop, It is really just personal preference. I'd suggest it if you are really planning on playing tons of ffr. Make sure you have drivers for it. You will need wireless internet drivers and what not.

I've played on a laptop with vista and had no lag or any issue at all. If anything it ran better.

My vista computer doesn't "lag" either. But it randomly gets offbeat by 2-3 frames. I would still call it lag. Seeing that you don't seem to have the greatest accuracy I don't really believe you would be able to see it or not.

Bad driver support has nothing to do with flash. It's not Microsoft's fault that he game hardware manufacturers months of prep time to test drivers.

Blame Adobe for bad flash.

And I don't actively program in Assembly. I'm sticking to the web technologies. Besides, I'd rather not deal with software bug fixes. Working with IE is bad enough.

When was the last version of adobe flash made. It seems like flash was made during windows xp and then just transferred over to vista.

Izzy, no offense but it sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about. Flash is really old technology originally made by Macromedia and then bought of Adobe when they couldn't prefect vector imaging so I'm told. OrganisM and MalDon know their stuff and I would put their opinions above mine. And thanks for telling me that about RAM Mal, had no idea Windows is retarded as not to detect graphical memory.

Flash 9 was released years after Vista. It requires separate drivers. Adobe makes them. Microsoft does not. Vista is not the problem. How many times do I have to rephrase the same thing?

THIS POST MAKES ME SO ANGRY I MUST TYPE IN CAPS.

I'm sorry but computers made by Macs although look nice are pieces of **** from my experiences. Apple has become the Abacrombie and Finch of computers except they're made like crap. I saw a Macbook with 1G of RAM, 1.6GHz Duel Core, Integrated Memory, and a 19" screen for $800. That is OUTRAGEOUS. If you're not retarded and you want the Mac OS which I only recommend for media such as editing video's (and I think that's it as it sucks for music too from what I've seen), buy a normal laptop for CHEAP and buy OSx. It will save you a bundle. Also from what I HAVE HEARD Mac hardware has a higher failure rate than anything else.

Wow...you're know you're a nerd when you get physically angry after reading a post on the internet about computers =/...I really want to say so much more but it would probably get ugly.

PS: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE

PPS: Somebody else tell her why that's such a ****ing awful idea...I'm going to lose sleep over this.

Ah, relax fido, I get irritated and take things personally all the time, and it bothers me that people believe in the Mac myth, but the best thing to do (at least as someone in the business) is to see the Mac for what it is, no more, no less.

Apple is a manufacturer that has taken things one step further than companies like Sony. They like to control absolutely everything to try and ensure quality. That includes a proprietary OS, even if the effect is really just a different GUI. That said, they are definitely overpriced, but such is the price consumers are willing to pay.

A Mac is a PC. Sorry to burst your bubbles, Macheads and PC nuts, the only particular difference is the GUI involved. Apple computers have been using Intel parts for a while now, along with Samsung parts and parts of other companies that are commonly used in PCs. Basically, it's the same exact thing as what's in a PC, only rebranded. Apple knows this, and that's why they're suing companies like Psystar that are trying to sell OSX with PC hardware. Nobody will buy a Mac when OSX is available on a PC, and nobody will buy OSX because of compatibility issues. Whoops.

And all you like about a Mac is available in a PC. The aluminum cases, cooling systems, monitors, all of it is available. The problem is that the PC does not have an identity. A crappy $15,000 Falcon Northwest custom rig is a PC, but so is a $350 crappy Dell. The common mistake lots of people make is comparing the crappy $350 Dell to a $2000 Macintosh. Whoops.

I personally prefer complete control over my system's hardware, and the compatibility and flexibility Vista offers. The Mac is a great alternative for the common consumer, though it's not any better than a PC.

Also note how any time there are failures of Mac systems reported on the Apple support forum, they quickly delete the threads and quiet down any users pestering them, before working on a fix. Huh, ain't that funny? There are many instances of this, and nobody seems to be talking about it.

...except for the entire computer hardware community. Not all the Macheads and Vista-haters.

Sorry kids, the myth is dispelled right here: You've all been fooled into believing "the Mac myth", and you're going to have to make decisions based on fact now.

If I remember correctly, Flash 9 was released about the same time vista was. Both came out around 2007. Adobe had plenty of time to get their player right. And they did, for the most part. Flash 10 just came out a few months ago and it performs worse than Flash 9.

Apologies, I was thinking of a later revision of Flash 9. Vista came out (retail) January 30th of 2007. Either way, Flash 10 came out in October of this year.
