Once more, lag with stepmania
I'm at my wits due to lag. I currently run SM 3.9, and only just today i have experienced heavy lag for no reason. I have closed ALL programs that i have been running, i am not using windows mode, i have removed all themes and additional noteskins, and nothing seems to have any effect. Please, any suggestions?

1. Start.
2. Control Panel 3. Add/Remove Programs 4. Un-install all unnecessary programs.

Re: Once more, lag with stepmania
What are the specs on your computer? If your computer simply doesn't have enough processing power to handle Stepmania, getting rid of more programs won't change it.

Re: Once more, lag with stepmania
Removing unnecessary programs/themes/noteskins will do nothing to make it go faster. That just takes up HD space.
You might want to check your processes to see if there's anything running in the background that is slowing it down, since it seems like SM was running properly at full speed before (from what I can gather). |

Re: Once more, lag with stepmania
Start>Run..."msconfig">Services>[X] Hide all Microsoft Services>Disable All> System Restart
^ I don't really recommend this unless you are fully aware about what you are doing and some of the consequences. It does makes your computer MUCH faster as it doesn't open unnecessary programs. |

Dude, your computer is probably bad...
If it lags running stepmania. And when I say bad I mean, low graphics card and such... RAM... Blahblahblah you get the point.

Re: Once more, lag with stepmania
It's as Yessss (or however many s's :P) said, it was working fine for two moths, then recently it just stopped liking me v_v. I'll try fragging, if that don't work, i was planning to nuke the comp anyways :P
(Before anyone says 'Noez that's going too far for SM' or 'You're addicted to SM' i really WAS planning to nuke the system) Last edited by Destructiox; 07-18-2007 at 07:23 PM.. |
