sounds like "coming back with naxx gear", which is pretty much the same as "coming back from scratch" at this point

Right, but people coming up from lower level or from scratch seem to like rolling up on my server in my guild, where we're all helpful and stuff, and then when you're 80 and want to raid more, we know a bunch of raiding guilds to slide into.

Well, if I recall correctly, I have a Hunter at 72 and a mage I was working on, but I doubt I would be too opposed to starting from scratch. I mean, I still remember a lot but help is still a nice thing and a good guild is always a big help. And I had a Warlock that was almost 45...

Found my Hunter...yeah, he sucks, I know.

Oh haha I can't believe I didn't actually post about this when we did it.

Anub HM down again. Unsuccessful attempts remaining: 49.

So I started playing again. Since my old guild (which I loved) is still in tatters, I decided to leave it for a guild that was actually doing 25-man progression. Joined a new guild and we downed heroic beasts last night... I just don't like the environment nearly as much. Everyone starts yelling on vent when anything goes wrong, and I feel like the environment is so hostile all the time.. =\ I miss xeno.

Apparently a guild member made a video of the kill.

Warning: It's boring. No techno music overlay or crazy sound effects workings. No pre-fight "look at us" or post-fight "we're so awesome". Not even vent noise where you could hear me speak (sorry!). In reality, I am yelling the entire time.

Well if you are planning to play PvE Alliance, roll up on Mok'Nathal and we'd be glad to help you out

The fact that a shadow priest is topping your DPS meters greatly disturbs me.

All I have ever really played is PvE Alliance so I will probably do what you suggested. It sucks cause the only classes I'm good at are Hunter and Warlock and theres always an over abundance of those which tend to be difficult to find a group at the later levels, but yeah, Ill probably join up.

When some people run Recount, they include the Totals bar. I do, and apparently this fellow does too. The Totals bar is the sum of all the DPS being done.

We do not run with any shadow priests.

HOLY **** I REMEMBER XENO.

It's so weird remembering Norgannon. I transferred away for Malfurion about a year ago now.

If you feel like changing servers, I'm in a guild with a casual schedule, but incredibly skilled people.

So we got our first night of solid Anub hardmode attempts in. The main competitor with us for Realm firsts was bragging about 15% after two weeks of attempts - we got him down to 20% after four hours of attempts. The first half of the night was devoted to figuring out Phase 1 and 2, but now we're good on that - the only hurdle we have left to get out of the way is for our healers to get the hang of Phase 3.

I'm confident we'll have it down when we go back on Sunday though.

NO IT WAS I
who topped dps

I hope you're not comparing your dps in a 25 man raid to his dps in a 10 man raid. I believe he only had one or two melee raid buffs. He had to sacrifice a bit of his dps to apply expose armor as well because our warrior wasn't tanking Anub. Most of that raid was set up so that casters had the advantage since we have so many in the raid.

Leeching swarm does 10% of health each second, with a minimum of 250 damage.

Is it just me, or does that mean you can heal through all of phase 3 with just a healing stream totem, vampiric embrace, and a judgement of light on the boss? At the very least it would trivialize healing for one or two groups, making healing the remaining groups and the tanks that much simpler too...

Not to mention using Wound Poison on his dagger to get the 50% healing debuff.

It's 20% in hard mode (30% in 25-man hard mode), but yes, you can heal through phase 3 with just those things. The problem is how low you keep the raid and how quick you are on reactions, as Penetrating Cold will kill two people if you don't get heals on them before the first tick of the debuff takes effect.

This is pretty much how we do it in both 10 and 25 mans. However, for phase3 for 25 man heroic, we have everyone pop a frost protection potion that absorbs 4-6k frost damage. It's gives our healers that extra few seconds for the first few penetrating colds.

No, I'm comparing my DPS in a 10-man raid to his in a 10-man raid. I do about 7k in 25, and about 6k in 10s. He has about the same gear quality as me - I only have one ToC-25 drop so far.

Is that with expose armor in your rotation and Wound Poison on? Also, lay off him. =[
