Re: The worst nightmare ever, I can't avoid goods due to a glitch...
OS: Windows Vista
Browser: IE 8 (although this shouldn't be a concern since I prefer flash 8 standalone) Flash version: 10 (but I use the standalone, so this is really flash 8) CPU: Toshiba Satellite P8400 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 4GB RAM @2.27GHz 64-bit system I honestly don't know how this would help, but sure... |

Glad to know I'm not the only one..yeah I'm in the same boat, I've noticed songs I've played recently are off sync by like a couple frames and it's annoying D: I keep getting random goods especially on jumps

Things have seemed a bit off since the return of the site. Have you tried setting your computer to best performance? That's the only thing I can really think of that might help a little. Vista does blow for FFR in general though I was playing on it for a good while I had a massive improvement when I went to 7.

As for frames, yeah, probably something like 2 frames off or something. The reason I suggested an offset option was because I thought the issue was variant amongst different computers (some computers offsync by a lot, some by a little, some not at all)...I didn't know before that some people have the exact same problem. Basically, I initially blamed the fact that I switched computers - but at least on SM, I actually perform better on my laptop than on my old computer. Why can't I reproduce this for FFR? An offset option would still make a lot of people happy I would presume. |

Perfectly onsync on SM -> slightly late on FFR, due to converter issue (0.5 frame at most though).
also, moving this to bugreport thread. |

Re: The worst nightmare ever, I can't avoid goods due to a glitch...
Has this always been an issue, or is it recent? What would explain the fact that the syncing was just right for me, say, a year ago?

Not a recent issue for sure, and I use the conventional converter.

I have to say I love the title for this topic, it makes it sound like the trailer to the new FFR horror movie coming out 2011

K, I play on Windows XP, I play on a downloaded flash player 8 as recommended by TC, my computer is a IBM Thinkpad TI41, so whatever stats that computer has. I use gamebooster and play in best performance mode.

This NEEDS fixing, I can't AAA VC's, and I am pretty darn close to being able to AAA Blue Rose if my stepmania MA has anything to say about it, but with these goods...

I'm pretty sure no one else has found a diagnosis yet, which is frustrating I know, but is probably why no one else's saying anything.

Re: The worst nightmare ever, I can't avoid goods due to a glitch...
This is certainly an odd glitch. I do not currently have this problem, but I can tell you what causes problems with my PC when it comes to this lag.
To start, upgrading (more like downgrading) my PC to Flash 10.1 KILLED FFR. I could barely play a single song without it all of a sudden jumping frames like crazy and giving me goods absolutely everywhere. I currently use the Adobe (Macromedia) Flash Player 9.0r260 standalone to play FFR, and generally experience 0 lag. In addition, enlarging the FFR window to a much higher proportion (zooming in, and full screen) causes me to get random goods in quite a lot of songs. Try playing it on it's default proportions in a maximized window and see if this makes a difference. It could also be your monitor. I noticed a significant decrease in the ability to play FFR on my upstairs computer when I purchased my 22.5" AOC, and upped the resolution to 1600 x 1200. The computer I use FFR on has only a 1024 x 768 resolution, I'd assume less processing, less lag or random goods. I am unsure of how many people are actually experiencing this issue with random goods/misses/boos/etc, but if it isn't a PC issue it should definitely be looked into.

Re: The worst nightmare ever, I can't avoid goods due to a glitch...
I'll have to check out that resolution thing you've suggested. And as stated previously, my issue has nothing to do with lag. The game runs smoothly, but you're still hit with random goods. It almost emulates a super-tight timing window, you get what I mean?

Re: The worst nightmare ever, I can't avoid goods due to a glitch...
exactly my thoughts, it feels like the timing window somehow got smaller and MUCH more precise
