Permission to Record this game for Youtube
Hi, I'm a veteran of FFR and have recently started a channel on youtube where the terms and conditions require that I have written permission to upload game footage from any videos I record in any game I play. Who do I talk to about getting a written/emailed statement allowing me to upload game play footage of FFR on my channel?

No one is going to chase you down for uploading FFR videos. Pretty sure you don't even need permission!

Re: Permission to Record this game for Youtube
So when you record yourself beasting a game, Youtube requires the makers of the game to provide you with written consent to do so?!
Meh. Go ahead. Youtube will only care if the administration sends them an angry message to that effect. |

Re: Permission to Record this game for Youtube
From what I know, uploading gameplay is allowed, they're more picky on copyrighted music though :\

As for FFR itself, live-streaming and uploading footage appears pretty much encouraged (as can be noted on the FFR videos DB section). Anything that helps promote this game is pretty awesome really.

That's what sucks haha, i've studied a lot about copyright and shit because i'm so sample exclusive if i ever make music and it's so damn annoying. Every penny you make off of something could potentially be taken and more if you haven't produced every f*cking aspect of whatever you're doing, if you're making money off of it. Do whatever you want on Youtube, don't expect to get a partnership ever though OP unless you get permission. If you don't want the partnership, go crazy |

Re: Permission to Record this game for Youtube
Yeaaaaaaaaaah. Uploading footage of a game completely centered around music is going to be tough because some of it will be copywritten and some of it wont.
Until you're partnered you have free reign. |

Even then. I'm a youtube partner and and I get watched like a hawk (when I used to upload content that is)
Not sure if its changed much... but remember it can go under 'fair use' (shrug)

Re: Permission to Record this game for Youtube
that's cute. I think it's quite past that by this point.
I think other than the fact that you can easily youtube -> mp3 songs people have digitally recorded (ie. not stuff taken by a camera externally..) I don't think anyone would be that mad if someone made a FFR vid. Probably better to get your keytaps in there somehow so no one can just do the 'forementioned technique. |

Re: Permission to Record this game for Youtube
I've always wondered this same thing because I am technically considered a YT partner, but I don't ever try to monetize videos of the rhythm games that I'm great at for the sake of copyright infringement. It's been tempting, I will say...
An overwhelming majority of the songs on FFR either have some sort of copyright on them or have a NC-CC clause which makes them unusable for commercial purposes. |
