hmm depends i have a few other ffr accounts with significant gameplays but haven't really played that much stepmania. you might have me in rhythm games outside of ffr but most people claiming carpal tunnel here don't.

Hmmm... schoolwork is definitely an issue. Also, my right shoulder gets really painful after an hour of intense playing. Other than that, not much happens.

There's countless threads like this but I figure I should input something useful since OP as fcking problems:
Stretch before your play; you don't have to get up and do it you lazy bastard, but simple arm rotations, finger stretches, and tricep stretches increase the blood flow to your hands. This in turn keeps your hands warm when playing, allowing your fingers to move faster. Good posture is also a key in being able to play countless of games without tiring: try not to rest your arms on the bottom of your wrists otherwise you'll definitely feel the soreness after a series of long jumpstream arrows. Oh and sit properly you slouching beanbag. There's no studies conducted that paresthesia (the numbing or pins and needles feeling you get in your extremities) is a health issue if it's temporary, but if you feel pain along with it, then you probably want to get that checked out.

Tunnel vision if I play for more than a few hours.
Carpel Tunnel is possible I guess, but never has happened to me yet from FFR/SM. And more often then not, I'll see little arrows when I close my eyes, kind of like that illusion when you close your eyes and see Jesus. Lmao. SOMETIMES, if I'm really stoned and not realizing how hard I'm smashing the keys, I'll start to feel my fingers tremble slightly after a song, then pain usually ensues. But that's from SMASHING keyboard till the point buttons don't come back up ^^

i play drums so ive already had alot **** happen to my hands so nothing EVER hurts when i play FFR except my fingers cause my hands have already been to hell and back

Over the summer, I got tendinitis from continually 99%ing 16-footers without warming up first. (216BPM solid 16th streams. Ow)
Had to quit for a number of months.
