Re: Bruno
This movie looks bloody ridiculous. I swear if anyone in my cell texts me to go see it I'm deleting their number.
Anyone on IM I see that says it's great is getting a 1 week block. I'm not kidding. |

Re: Bruno
I hated Borat because it really didn't make me laugh the whole way through, walked out on it actually.
Won't waste $9 on Bruno then. |

Re: Bruno
Some people walked out when I saw it. It was grossly funny. It for sure was a "lets see what we can get away with" movie but I enjoyed it. Good laughs.

Re: Bruno
Idk, penis/dildo humor can only be taken so far. It's all way too low-brow when it's overdone.
I thought Borat was OK even though it was a total mind-raper -- it was still entertaining, however retarded. I can appreciate a bad movie as long as it's a bad movie done well, if that makes sense. A bad bad movie is just bad. I haven't seen Bruno yet but I don't want to pay money to go see it, either. I'll probably wind up seeing it eventually online.

Re: Bruno
It's not like constant, the constant are gay jokes. With penis and dildo ones in between. And the occasional race joke.

Re: Bruno
Borat was funny because it exposed American insecurities about foreigners, and how much we should tolerate ignorance to try and seem nice.
Bruno is more about people being idiots. See the PR Girls scene.

I've been reading reviews that suggest some of the skits were staged, esp. the celebrity ones? Haven't seen the movie yet, so I wouldn't know.

Re: Bruno
The only thing staged was the Eminem thing at the MTV Movie Awards, but that's not in the movie.

Re: Bruno
The song over the end, which is really the only celebrity part, is clearly staged. I mean, it's a studio recording session with Sting, Elton John, and Bono.

Re: Bruno
Of course there are pieces that are staged -- even Borat had staged scenes (Pamela Anderson, anyone?)

Re: Bruno
It's always funny to see people react to ridiculous situations. I found most of the movie really funny. My favorite part was the ending wrestling scene.
