Unhappy Nora Roberts

What an excellent author she is. Although I had my prejudices against her since she was a romance author that my mother worshiped, I was hesitant at first to check out one of her books. I thought they were just bland, awful stories that had next to no plot and a whole bunch of slutty sex scenes mixed in, but I was sure taken for a spin.

The book that I decided to read of hers, Northern Lights, proved to be one of the better books I have read - I'm not exactly sure if it was the feeling that it was an adult style setting with characters who were about 10 years older than me, a twisting plot in an exotic setting (Alaska), or the fact there were pages upon pages of raw, uncensored sex, but something about the book just gripped me and made me read through them with little time to stop.

She's an excellent writer, to my surprise, and I am sure as hell looking forward to checking out another one of her books the next time I go to the library, hopefully one that isn't quite the haul that Northern Lights was.
