FPS
Is there anyway to force your FPS in Stepmania to a certain number? Just curious.
Edit:sorry if the title is misleading. |

Re: FPS
Well as much as vsync allows constant framerate I wouldn't recommend it as it gives visual delay and it could result in messing up your accuracy and most likely you'll have to adjust your cmod down a bit. Have you tried the WaveOut fix ?

Re: FPS
Bump. But I'm wondering in sm5, can you force the fps to a certain number like r3?

Re: FPS
I don't think you can force it to a certain number without using vsync, but if you're just trying to get it higher, try the Fast Note Rendering option in Graphics/Sound options, and turning BG Brightness to 0%.
Each of those has a substantial impact on rendering, so both of them together will give you a higher frame rate (use the Show Rendering Stats choice in the debug menu to see the difference (hold F3 and tap 6)).

I believe that the human eye can't see past 70-100 FPS. So anything past that cap is pretty much pointless unless you're that OCD about your FPS in games. Depending on the physical specs of your monitor, the higher the refresh rate will appear smoother because of the hz of your monitor. So...if your monitor can only go up to 60hz, 100 refresh rate in SM5 may appear choppy/weird. If you set it to 60, it looks smooth. This is all in theory of course.
