Re: Top Regional Players Idea
Me and Tay would have quite a battle for that, but overall, I'd think i'm a better FFR player for NJ. Now SM, thats a different story... Not quite sure where I fall there.
I'd say this wouldn't be too difficult to do based on average level rank or maybe even tier points. This is however, assuming they utilize people's profile's location field. It also assumes that these people tell the truth, and aren't putting bull**** in those fields. Alternatively, there could be a sign up, but that would need keeping, so it owuld be up to them, but I do like the idea.

Re: Top Regional Players Idea
What they should do is have an East US one and a Central and a West or something and a thing for other countries.

Re: Top Regional Players Idea
Be a little problematic, unless Synth put in something to query IP addresses and convert those into geographic locations, to actually make this work.
People can say they are from wherever they want. Will there be a top 10 for "Right behind you" as a location also? |

Re: Top Regional Players Idea
Um.
I don't know where using your location field came into play, but I can say that wasn't part of my idea considering it's bound to be problematic. What I was saying was to do something like the pets thing. Launch the page or whatever it's going to be (or would be) for a day or longer or so, and let anyone that wants to choose their general location on a map, then using hte map, the top players list would be generated. I bet that'd be an awful lot of code work, but that sounds pretty dang cool. |

Re: Top Regional Players Idea
Lol, Evildave's hometown is Kansas, but for the moment he lives about 20minutes south of me.
I would love this feature by the way. LD, Get workin Kinda like http://img45.imageshack.us/my.php?image=usa3aa1.jpg For the main screen, and then you can interact and click on one of the regions and it take you to http://img45.imageshack.us/img45/813...sregionfy0.jpg For the top 10 in that region and with the zoom out of that region and stuff. Re: Top Regional Players Idea
Well, not to try to promote my own idea or anything, but the mere idea of it is already getting people to try to compare themselves with those in their region.
