First off LOL to your sig.

If you can come up with a name and some strenths and weaknesses for it then I'll be happy to include it.

Oh, fine. SO this makes me a handicapped player then? Sucks to be me.

Hmm... can't think of a name yet. i thought of another pattern though:

12321232123212321

You can call it something like mini staircases.

EDIT: Had another idea. 1414141414141 could be called a helix. I know it is a trill, but it reminds me of a helix.

It certainly is a handicap to some extent... If it isn't, then I'd like to see some 1 hander scores matching the very best index and 4 finger players. And no, that's not gonna happen.

But it just depends on what you enjoy using... there are many very impressive 1 handed scores either way.

123212321 is a staircase.

That is why I am a one-hander because it is impossible for your hands to get mixed up and you can hit the arrows better. A con for one-handers are the jumps and constant streams of 232323232323232323...
So, therefore, all of the ways you play have pros and cons. Comfort is the most important thing when deciding which playing style is right for you.
O_o
jumps and streams are not hard its a matter of how fast you can read the arrows

You apparently haven't played some of the faster keyboard songs... At a certain point, it's not all reading, and your finger speed itself starts to matter quite a bit more.

That's where the handicap comes in.

For the most-part, I am A One Hander. But when it comes to faster songs( 4 Finger Songs) I do something that I don't hear people talking about. I use 2 hands in different areas. Left Middle goes on the up arrow on the arrow buttons. Left Index on the Left Button. Right Middle on the NUMBER 6 on the # pad. Right index on the NUMBER 2 on the # Pad. I haven't really heard people talk about this style, but I use it very frequently. I find that it makes it easier to sync all four fingers.
What do you all think?

actually yes i have(i could beat you any day anyway)... yes speed is a key but some people have speed but cant read basic patterns.also it does matter on how fast you can read the arrows and listen to the beat.(thats the whole point to playing is it not?)
speed matters but you need to know how to use it.

I actually think it makes it easier. It does for me, anyway. I think that might just be because I have huge hands. I don't really know. I can read all the faster songs with ease, my problem was always that I couldn't move my fingers fast enough. Then I tried using the numberpad and it made it a whole lot easier. It isn't uncomfortable at all. (For Me Anyway)

I just saw this and all I can say is...

medeocre...

Maybe because you've only really played one style the whole time while playing SM, take a period (a month maybe) to briefly master every other style like I did a while ago.

damn I never thought of using two hands.. it'll be tough to switch, because I'm already comfortable with using one. the worst part is, I'm used to Pump it Up so the arrows are all confusing in the first place /swt

exactly. like ROATF. All patterns are readable (even edit to some extent) but to be able to move your fingers fast enough is a feat very few indexers have accomplished (Izzy.)

*OT* also it's alot easier to read arrows if you're from a music backround. ex. my friend's a drummer and he was passing dendrite the same week he joined. even though he's one handed Xp.

K, need help here. I don't really know how Indexers feel about gallops. Especially in comparison to 4.
