Re: Outta Yo Sprites
Oh, you make dubstep now. Wow, I'm loving these mixes a lot, can't wait to really appreciate them in depth when I have more time to dedicate to multi hour music sessions

Thanks to everyone for your feedback, and I suppose, seal of approval haha
As with any of my tracks, I give my permission to let this track be used in FFR as well.

Re: Outta Yo Sprites
I'll be the first person to say something bad; So what exactly did you do here other than play two songs together with a bit of repeating? I don't really hear any original material. It's a good mashup, no lie, but there's like, no user generated material. It's more like DJing than anything. Once again, however, well done mash. I guess it's alright. Same type of stuff Girl Talk does, and I like some of his (older) work.

Re: Outta Yo Sprites
There are plenty of things bad to say, but those who aren't a fan of the genre in question are abstaining from it. You can't provide constructive criticism if you can't even listen to the genre without losing your head

I know what you mean, I can't stand dubstep so when I listened to this after I commented I was like... Oh.

I did tons of remixing, cutting, editing, looping, sampling, envelope automation, EQing, sidechaining, compression, mastering, etc. I do agree that this, in essence, is a mashup, but several hours did go into fine-tuning this track. I just think it's funny when 1 out of 200 people write me saying, "Well what did YOU do." Thinking that if I didn't create a new synth or drum pattern, then I didn't do anything. haha Bottom line, I'm glad the non-cynical people are enjoying the track, and I've been getting messages left and write from DJ's around the world excited to drop this track at their next big event.

Skrillex, whose song is the base of the track, I doubt would complain - I might even ask Sonny for blanket permission but Mr. Lil Jon is a different story. Sick remix/mashup btw man |

Re: Outta Yo Sprites
Actually, as a law student, with how copyright laws work, especially when remixed works for non-commercial use are concerned, yes, I give permission for this track to be used in FFR. ...You telling me everyone of those remixes in the arcade genre have written permission by Sega and it's original song-writers? lol
Besides, the the network of connections I've established over the years as a DJ and promoter, it's one easy e-mail from me to Sonny to get the blanket permission anyways. Glad you like the track though

Also didn't know you still are able to give permission even tough - as said earlier - you didn't add any new components to the mix, which most songs in arcade DID do. Thanks for the clarification. |
