Lamb of God, Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, Opeth (few la-la-la moments tho), Arch Enemy to name a few. Arch Enemy before they switched to the chick lead singer, preferably (although she does a good job).

Oh my god I love metal:

Here's some really good bands that I like

In Flames
Dark Tranquillity

Hypocrisy
Soilwork
Children of Bodom
Amon Amarth
Arch Enemy
Dimmu Borgir
Mudvayne
Tool (meh, could be considered metal... still an awesome band)
Metallica (download the album Metallica aka the black album)
Opeth
Thine Eyes Bleed
Rob Zombie
Marliyn Manson
Nile
Slayer
Vader

hmmm there's some more i can think of... but that should do for now.

It pains me as an American to say this, but American metal pales in comparrison to European metal. I mean they're on two completely different levels in terms of talent... although that probably has to do with metal being way more popular in Europe than it is in North America.

Both Liquid Tension experiment and Blind Guardian are good in my book.

I'm not much of a metal fan though =\

Hardcore is great too, kind of like a cross of death metal and punk. Like:
Underoath
Hawthorne Heights
Atreyu
(older) Taking Back Sunday (sort of)
Senses Fail
The Used (kinda emo)
etc.

NONE of those bands are considered "death" or even come close to the word. Bunch of ****ing emo pansies who think that they can play with the big boys because they can spout gutteral phrases.

Great job bringing back an old thread to say something so insightful. Have you even read the rules?
