Oh c'mon, I don't COMPLETELY wreck you.

Only when I want to.

Izzy, which of the three games did you download?

I have scarlet weather rhapsody. I can do hard mode in arcade pretty well after the first day of playing. I just don't know how to play other people.

How to Make a Game:
For SWR: Start SWR after you connect to the FFR Hamachi Network. Select VsNetwork. Select the first choice (サーバーを立てる). Make the port number 10800 (should be default). The next question asks whether viewers are allowed. Left is yes, right is no. Wait for a response. (You can be working on other things as long as you leave the volume on. You can hear a ringing noise when someone enters, or the noise character selection.)

How to Join a Game:
For SWR (first time opponent): Start SWR after you connect to the FFR Hamachi Network. Select VsNetwork. Select the second choice (IPとポートを指定してサーバーに接続). Enter the Hamachi IP Address of your opponent. Port number should be 10800 (default). If successful, the character selection screen should come up immediately.

For SWR (second time opponent): As stated above, then: Select the 4th choice (履歴からサーバーに接続). The IP Address of the opponent should be listed there. Same as above for rest.
That's what Midday writes. I can't really help you here, since I only play IaMP and not SWR.

You don't _need_ Hamachi to play other people, but it's a lot easier than configuring your ports so you can host. You can also contact other people online to play, so I'd recommend getting it (not a huge download, doesn't eat up memory, etc. etc.).

I am going to download IaMP later. Hopefully its easier to play people online. Are they pretty similar in character moves and stuff? I have only extensively played with remilia.

When you enter "vs netplay", you have 6 options. Only choose either the first option to host a match, or the second option to join a match.

When hosting, you have to select a port number. Just use port 10800 ALWAYS when playing us (unless the opponent wants to use another otherwise). Then you wait until he joins. You'll know when you hear a ring.

If you are joining a match, you have to input the IP address which can be found beside the name of the person you are playing with in Hamachi. Then after the IP you must also select the port that the person who's hosting in using. Once you do that, you should start playing in a matter of seconds. You know if you're unsuccessful if the message changes.

Well...you don't need Hamachi to play online, but it helps if you want to play others if a direct connection doesn't work. Also, you need it anyways to join the FFR Touhou Hamachi network.

Also, it's normal to use a controller. I use a keyboard though since I'm used to it.

I think someone else here uses a controller as well. I forgot who though...

Hmm... IMO, using a controller doesn't as well as a keyboard. A bit harder to pull off combos and the like with your thumbs, unless of course you're laying the controller on top of a flat surface or something and then using your fingers to play.

I'd say, stick with a keyboard since it'll be easier and a more preferable way of playing IaMP.

Gamepads don't work all that well for IaMP. The way the game was designed, is keyboard-biased. A gamepad player vs. a keyboard player would have the match slated towards the keyboarder.

I find using a controller very easy. Can do lunatic very well now. I can push the buttons faster then the game will play them anyway.

Edit: also i don't use the gamepad. Analog works great.

If anyone wants to tell me what alot of these spellcards do that would be great. I cant seem to figure them out so i always flip to the spear and the explosive stuff.
