Ripping music from Websites
Does anybody know a program for Windows XP, that can "copy/record" music from the website Im on? (Must be FREE, or has trial)
Like, I want a particular song from youtube, so I can put it on my Mp3 player. So, I need a program to rip it from the youtube URL. Thanks |

Re: Ripping music from Websites
Uhm, I cant find it anywhere, and its not made by a specific artist. Its an X-Play Segment song.
Also, 1 Ruble here, is like 30 cents there. I dont feel like playing almost 4 times the ammount of money than a american for the song. Also, I hate iTunes. |

Re: Ripping music from Websites
, Someone told me Audacity would do it for me, but I dont understand how to do that :S.
I only use audacity for editing songs, not for ripping songs from the net. Thanks though Later on, if I have any more songs, I would like. Could ya help me? |

You set your microphone to record from sound output.

Re: Ripping music from Websites
I've been trying to do that for a long time.
Here are my theories: 1. Find a good microphone, set it in its stand, and place your compter and the microphone in an area that deos not echo. You don't want your music to sound blurry. 2. Play your music and turn on your microphone to record, which is easy in Garageband. 3. Record the music, and turn it off when it's over. 4. Clip off the blank ends. 5. Somehow convert it to an mp3.

Re: Ripping music from Websites
Yea, but I wanted the name of the program, as I want to record another song from youtube, too.
Also, garage band is for Mac. Is there any programs that can do that, for XP? Also, Not to mention the songs in the link you posted, have an annoying 18 seconds of white noise at the beginning and at the end. -_- Now to cut that out with audacity. How I get songs off youtube is to download the video using YouTube Downloader, and then extract the audio using FLV Extractor in .mp3 format(both are freeware) Youtube Downloader: http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ FLV Extractor: http://www.digital-digest.com/softwa...3&ssid=0&did=2 |

Re: Ripping music from Websites
There's a more effective way to steal "all teh ffr" music that doesn't involve recording from stereo mix, so I certainly hope that's not what people would use this power for.

If you're using Firefox, there's a little browser thing you can download which will allow you to download videos from websites such as Youtube to your computer. If you're not using Firefox, there are other 3rd party programs that will do the same. Once you've done that, use DivX or something like that to rip it from the video. I won't go into detail, because I'm lazy, but if you care enough you should be able to figure it out.
