[TWG] what do with the chives subforum?
the poll is pretty self-explanatory. I think we should either use the subforum for something or remove it altogether (which I assume wouldn't be a hassle).
personally, I would go for archiving old threads. here's an example of what the finished product might look like. there are currently pages and pages of threads in this forum which will be viewed by virtually nobody, and I think that makes the forum more daunting for newcomers. what do you think? |

Ok, I don't mind having a public archives TWG if people not in TWG have access to games so they can read the drama

Re: [TWG] what do with the chives subforum?
I volunteer to help in the procedure and replacing links and whatnot when necessary.
If not we could use this subforum to share our best chive recipes. Chive on. |

Re: [TWG] what do with the chives subforum?
So I want only actual completed games to go in that forum. That is my preference. And to have the person moving them post a post saying "archived" and then lock and move the thread.
Do them in numerical order so game threads appear from newest to oldest descending Is that idea at all clear?? |

Also I think the name of the sub forum is endearing and I want to keep it

Re: [TWG] what do with the chives subforum?
I could get behind that, although I think TWG History Thread v2 achieves the same purpose.
agreed on the name Last edited by dAnceguy117; 04-6-2014 at 01:46 PM.. |

Re: [TWG] what do with the chives subforum?
I don't see an issue with it just as long as somebody is willing to fix the broken links. I prefer the cleaner look.

Re: [TWG] what do with the chives subforum?
every time I read it, I taste delicious chives in my mouth... such a tease
Personally I feel like we should have two subforums. one for the chives and one for meta discussions. |

the site staff's issue with a meta discussion subforum is that the number of discussion threads don't warrant an extra subforum. if we were to archive old games/threads first, then we could see what happens from there. maybe more discussion threads would crop up if the forum looked less cluttered, or maybe not. |

What do you want to do with the postgames then? Leave them here?
Move them over too?

Re: [TWG] what do with the chives subforum?
we have some split opinions in this thread. it depends on exactly what the goal of archiving stuff would be.
personally, I would say all old threads are fair game to move over. |

Re: [TWG] what do with the chives subforum?
The argument might even be made that post games are also "meta discussion".

Re: [TWG] what do with the chives subforum?
@dissenters, can you explain why you think keeping everything in the main forum is the best choice?

Re: [TWG] what do with the chives subforum?
I mean, the problem is, what do we do with the main forum once we move everything to the archives forum?

Re: [TWG] what do with the chives subforum?
that's one option. or just have the usual threads all contained within a page or two, so that when a new player is told to "read the rules" or "look through some old games" their eyes don't turn toward the 46-pages-of-threads marker. that's my thinking.
