Re: Snow.
Way to understate the effects our weather has. Not only does it snow more than that but difference with other countries is that it often melts and then refreezes which is pretty dangerous for any kind of traffic. Since it's not full on snowfall like in canada or w/e it's hard to prepare well for this because it's unpredictable weather (which is why a lot of public transport has issues in these regions during this time of year). It's the same here in my country (Netherlands) and everything becomes slippery as fuck. It's even worse when it snows over again cause then you can't even see where the ice is. Not so much a problem in the busy traffic areas but the areas that are calm are a low priority so very little or no salt or anything is laid out on the roads there. I cycle a lot if I want to go anywhere and cycling through this becomes terribly exhausting and tedious because you're constantly trying to keep your bike straight going over bumpy iceroads only to slip and fall anyway.
I hate winter.

Re: Snow.
This so much. It doesn't even snow here a whole ton, but like Tristan pointed out, the snow here tends to melt and refreeze, causing ice, causing fucking everything to be either unable to go, or unable to stop.
I love winter when I don't actually have to go places. You know, like, during Christmas break for example. Otherwise, no thanks.

Re: Snow.
I like the way it looks initially. It's pretty. However... it turns into this disgusting slush and doom after about a day. And NO ONE knows how to drive. People in the ditches galore.

Re: Snow.
At least you all have snow. I live in California, where it *never* snows, ever. I love snow; it's like you're in another world. You can make snow angels, have snowball fights, build snow figures, and see your breath in the air.

Once snow becomes a regular thing for you, it is MUCH less appealing

Re: Snow.
Holy fuck like 3 feet in our driveway, and 15 inches in our entire subdivision. Got stuck and needed a push on our way in :C then a lot of manual labour clearing out to make room for the car.
It's really beautiful lookin tho, the snow on the trees and the quietness that's all around~ awesome atmosphere.

Re: Snow.
I do agree that it looks nice, but it definitely isn't worth the hassle it brings

Re: Snow.
Depends what you need to do. Right now I have no real places to go/do not need to work out in the snow, so it's perfectly alright to me B)
We need to be more organized tho, SUV snowmobiles and such for the right occasions~

Re: Snow.
Yeah, I hate snow, too.
I live 20 minutes from Niagara Falls, ON. It snowed yesterday. We hardly got anything, just a very small sheet that melted away quickly. One little sliver of it is still in my backyard. Nothing to make a big deal about, since I live in Canada. |
