Re: Songs of the Week (October 21, 2012)
Did anyone else have troubles recording the scores for these songs?
I can't wait till the token works. I'll definitely give it a try to unlock (if my scores want to record). Of the songs I played Poppin' Shower was my favourite. I didn't even know we had permission for P*Light. I'll be hoping to see more of their music in the game in the future. The problem with Captain Jack (even though it's a temporary file) it won't play in the veteran beta engines and I had to play it in the regular velocity engine. The other songs I felt had nothing special to them and were ok. I found cheerful forest a little hard for a 71 and Poppin' Shower a little easy for a 69. |

Re: Songs of the Week (October 21, 2012)
cheerful forest
Ooooh, I like this file. Too bad I was playing it so early in the morning. I got quite frustrated with this song, haha. It's fun chart, I love the 24th bursty notes as well as the jump haven part. Overall, pretty nifty chart ya got here, Mr. Bmaaaaaaaaaaah. Countdown +1 for another piano piece, love them. +1 for a constant BPM, most of the time they're not. Nice find! -1 however for putting in those grace notes. I mean, they fit and all, but for a relaxed chart like this, I don't know if that sudden spike should even be there, regardless if it makes sense or not, haha. Endless Tewi-ma Park Oh my god, the voices! They burn my head! OH MY GEEEEWD! But no, this chart is really quite the fun one despite the vocals being very... erm... unique so to speak. The entire chart flows very well and I like how we're tapping to these vocals in fun successions. Nice first chart in the game, Zak! Poppin' Shower [Veteran] I don't even know what the heck was going on in this song, lol. I liked the rolls, but because it was so early in the morning that I played it, I got frustrated with this song the most. Simply because I felt like I couldn't play the chart right no matter how many retries I did. It's a fun chart though despite my inability to play it right. It looks fun at least. Walking on Water Can I say this is the first time a rock song had a "swing" pattern to it? That's exactly what this chart did and I love it for it. The song itself is not my cup of orange soda mixed with koolaid, but I digress. Nice chart all around! CAPTAIN JACK (GRANDALE REMIX) Saying something about this because I never played it before, lol. I don't know how old this file is, but if it's old, it's pretty good old file. I really liked how the patterns flowed. The only thing I didn't like was the background dammit! Rest in Peace, Captain Jack! |

cheerful forest seems off-sync for the first half. had to play with sound off. seems on-sync at the end. don't know if it's me or the song.

Endless:
Easily one of the best "first charts" I've ever seen. I rate this even above my own. This chart is simple fun. This is the kinda stuff we need back in the game. Even if the song choice isn't something you like. Fantastic first chart in game Zak. Cheerful Forest: First half: Yay. Second half: Bmah chart. Countdown: Teach me great one. Poppin' Shower: Didn't enjoy this at all really. Song choice is awesome though I give you that. Walking On Water: Musical preference aside, chart's not bad. Shadows: First off, making me refc a 3 minute song is ass. Jerks. Also the chart's not really interesting. That weird ass like 4 14 1 14 or whatever it is, is stupid pattern wise. |

Re: Songs of the Week (October 21, 2012)
Overall, I enjoyed the releases this week. I did get a bit sleepy (speaking literally, because I was exhausted when I played these files) with Countdown and Walking with Water, but the files themselves are well done.
Favorites of the week are the two hardest files - Poppin' Shower and cheerful forest are both files I can see myself playing leisurely. Nice work to both of you guys. |
