Oh yeah, totally forgot I got Theory of Nonexistence's permission BEFORE he got his ReMix on OCR (Collab with Sixto Sounds).

Anyways, links: http://ton.escariot.net/songs/
And his OCR profile. http://www.ocremix.org/artist/4796/t...f-nonexistence

EDIT2: So far so good.
But some of the artists want notifications first. They are: Suzumebachi, and bLiNd.
-bLiNd wants to know what song it is AND wants to see the finished result before release.
-Zoola wants to be credited as "John Torkington"

The Consortium of Genius permission is STILL incorrect.

Relevant info:

We have permission from the Consortium of Genius (www.ConsortiumOfGenius.com) to use some of their songs in FFR.

The first is "Science Party" from the CD 'Free Brains and Dead Bodies'.
It can be obtained at http://www.consortiumofgenius.com/do...ienceParty.mp3

The second is "Placebo!" from the CD 'In C.O.G. We Trust'. http://consortiumofgenius.com/downloads/placebo.mp3

This includes any and all songs downloadable from their web pages.

A general list is:

BRAIN WRAP (feat. Dr. 'A') <Hip-Hop> http://consortiumofgenius.com/downloads/brain.mp3
SCIENCE PARTY http://consortiumofgenius.com/downlo...ienceParty.mp3
BOW 2 ME <Rock> http://consortiumofgenius.com/downloads/bow.mp3
PLACEBO http://consortiumofgenius.com/downloads/placebo.mp3
DEATH TO THE ANGEL OF DEATH http://consortiumofgenius.com/downloads/death.mp3
M.I.L.K. http://consortiumofgenius.com/downloads/milk.mp3
BLINDED BY SCIENCE http://consortiumofgenius.com/downloads/blinded.mp3

All of the above can be downloaded from http://consortiumofgenius.com/downloads/sounds.htm

The below songs can be downloaded from http://consortiumofgenius.com/lyrics/

Bucket O' Blood (2001) <Pirate Rock> http://consortiumofgenius.com/lyrics/bucket.mp3

The below are from Songs of Violence and Stupidity (1993) and are NOT the same as the versions from the other albums. Their first album, recorded on cassette tape, some are good while others are... not so good. I will list the decent ones.

Die Barney Die <Rock> http://www.courtforms.com/cog/DieBarneyDie.mp3
Dance Or Die http://www.courtforms.com/cog/DanceOrDie.mp3
Brain Wrap (1993 Version) <Hip-Hop> http://www.courtforms.com/cog/BrainWrap.mp3
Krazed Archer <Intro can be cut> http://www.courtforms.com/cog/KrazedArcher.mp3

Also, shouldn't MC Frontalot be pink?

hmm guys i was just thinking...

lately I've been trying to find a song to step so ive been lookin through, clicking on every pink lists website etc...i was wondering, would anyone here be interested if I added the Genre next to the artist?

i could do something like :

Freedom call (R): www.freedomcall.com

then i could do an icon thing like

(R) = Rock
(P) = Pop
(T) = Trance

etc etc etc.

i just think it would help cause im sick of wasting time clicking on artists just to find out theyre classical or opera or something i really hate lol. it would save time.

however im not going to do this if noone else likes the idea.

so tell me what you think.

PS: Somone go get permission for an Opera song lol.

It's a good idea... it only proves that you are so interested on this thread... and that's awesome...

but be prepared... because there will be people saying: "This is not **genre**, it is **rare name genre**...

if i did do it, id probs only sort it out into the genre's in game.

so death metal, heavy metal, alternative rock, rock, soft rock will all fit in 'Rock'

so id sort them into arcade, rock, funk, dance, hip hop, etc.

EDIT: what is our permission status on Draigun? a song has just been released into the game by him (kidney stone, currently only subscribers only) but i dont think i have him anywhere on my list lol.

Here's Round Wave Crusher/Shingo DJ (M)

http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...d.php?t=104157

Also Azim should not be pink, he has a song in-game called "Freak Out". He makes (H) Hip hop music.
Basshunter is not (C) but (D) (the link to his myspace is also broken, here's it fixed http://www.myspace.com/basshunterdance)
Bong-Ra makes (M) Misc music. (Breakcore mainly)
Bit Upper (D)
Catherine (R)
Code 64 (D)

And is it possible that you can add an (A) for arcade music (my fav style of music)? Because (D) and (A) should not be in one genre.

PS: Great work with the categories/unstepped songs. You seem very dedicated to this list, I appreciate that.

Just requesting a change of URL for Synius... preferably to the rithum; the soundclick's a bit out of date. If anyone wants to use any of the stuff on the MFA that isn't avaliable for download just shoot me a PM or instant message.

what do you guys classify as arcade?

does that include electro, video game music and techno? or is electro and techno dance? or what?

EDIT: oh...do you guys classify breakbeats and breakcore as (M)?

"Arcade" is typically classified within genres that relate to 8-bit music and video game remixes. Because there's so much variation of genres of video game remixes, and many remixes reference more obscure video games, there's been some debate as to which songs deserves to belong in the arcade category.

Techno genre typically goes in the Dance category.

I have issues with this. You're oversimplifying things, as many artists don't just specialize in one or two genres. Actually, a lot of the muzie artists fall into the "variety" category if you will. I can say that this method might be only reliable with rock bands, because, well, they do just rock!

EDIT: forget about it, until i find a much easier way of doing it, theyll just have to look at the links. it looks more clean without the bold anyway.

Many, if not all of the links that are too long, contain "..." in the link, and when you click it, it adds the ellipsis in there. That needs to be fixed. You can fix the situation by adding url tags before the link and pasting it, so that way, it will have the ... in the link displayed, but still will direct you to the right place.

EDIT: I'll help you out with it when I wake up in the afternoon (yes afternoon, because it's 4:40 AM now ).

Alrighty, I'm searching now for the broken links, and will give you updated/fixed links in a little bit, hopefully.

EDIT:

Updated permissions links

This fixes all of the links that had ellipsis in them, causing to break. It's up to Bolth to add them in now.

Hmmm...what you could try doing is inserting a [url] tag next to the links that keep breaking.

Basically, you'd use the url tag before each broken link, and then close the url with a close tag. I would show you an example, but it breaks even inside of a code tag. =.=
