So no matter what I do, break over keeps failing me out. Even if I hit and hold the quad, or let it go?

I'm playing in etterna on 5.5 x-mod (tried it on M1200 to no avail either.)

I have the same issue on Cmod, I hit the quad and failed, I let the quad go and failed.

As mentioned, break over does not work well on cmod, because it's a song with negative bpms, and not just a bunch of stop tricks. It works fine for me in 3.9 and I don't see why it would fail to work in newer versions using xmods.

You just hold the quad till the freezes disappear. That's pretty much it. Don't let go of those freezes until they're gone.

The fail is in like the last three seconds since the clip button starts like some number before when I hit Alt X or whatever.

I've played a couple songs with negative BPM tricks and didn't fail them out. It's a ridiculously fun file to play man I hope someone finds a workaround for this

Yeah, I'm having the same issues with Break Over, even when I play it in the editor.

I'll look into this a bit later, but one thing that should also be turned on is mines. The freeze growing effect basically requires mines or else you'll need to repeatedly hit quads during that section. (If you look in the editor, you'll notice a quad of mines after each frame of movement.) For some reason, the mines enable you to use freeze arrows during negative bpm tricks without a problem.

If it's a different issue then I'll have to look into it.

Yeah, so Etterna (and even Arrow Vortex with claps turned on) counts all those quad freezes as separate arrows.

Well the trick is basically comprised of multiple freezes, but all should be registered individually so that it appears you're holding one single quad freeze. I've never had any issues, so I wonder if this is a mechanic of the program being used. If so, it's sad that negative bpm exploits in SM can't be transferred to Etterna.
Anyone with a possible explanation?

i can look into whatever issue there is if someone steers me in the right direction

gimmick and mod charts aren't the focus of development but I did go out of my way to leave as much functionality in as I could

though it's hard to do that when there are so many blocks of code that seemingly do nothing but drastically slow the game down to account for [undocumented purpose or explanation but in most cases no purpose whatsoever], so it's likely the specific (or general) functionality broke in the process of fixing those

i think this might be an issue with sm 5 in general and not just etterna.

BREAK OVER (bmah & MacGravel) - What a strong start to the pack! These patterns looked kind of dirty at first, but they just flowed so well! Loved it Also, since I'm playing on SM3.9 right now (sorry :<), the "freeze" at the middle killed me even if I'm using Cmod... LOL I don't understand but this was some cool shit. I mean, Stepmania legit froze lmao

cherry blossoms explode across the dying horizon (XelNya & MacGravel) - I'll admit the first half wasn't really my cup of tea, just because I hard a hard time hitting the arrows (maybe I'm too rusty and becoming to be bad at this game...) However, the later half? GENIUS! I saw the x-mods in the health bar, and it looked amazing. I'll play this song on x-mod in sm5 later for sure

Eccentric Ghost Channel as Poltergeist (rparty89 & MacGravel) - Cool! Just one quick thing I noticed, it seems like the arrows are not well lined-up to the beats in c-mod (for example, the 12ths in the beginning). Other than that however, was super enjoyable!

Everyday [Netsky Remix] (blind & MacGravel) - I think you're missing a hold in the first section, but technicalities aside this song was SWAG loved it and died at the streams at the end

Figue Folle (James May & MacGravel) - Oh James May how you never leave me bored. :P These trills were something, man. I loved the song, even though it's a bit too hard for me near the end.

Infinite Funk (Kinx & MacGravel) - This song is so chill man... Perfect use of holds as far as I'm concerned. You hit a sweet spot for me with this one. My favorite so far (playing songs in alphabetical order).

Las Vegas (Antronach & MacGravel) - WOW LOL Right in the sweet spot. You guys are killing it with this one <3

m1dy Deluxe (Kraezymann & MacGravel) - I think I found a new favorite... Wow, this is one song I wished I stepped, or rather KNEW how to step. Very sweet spot for me.

If it makes you feel any better I struggle the first half on cmod and can't pass it yet either on X-mod.
