Yeah, 4Kids completely butchered the show, I've seen the original, and I like it. If some other company bought rights to the american version instead of 4Kids the english adaptation, and showed it unedited, it might've been good.

So? When I was a mod I didn't make the Galaxy Angel topic a sticky.

You could've.

I do vaguely recall SOMEONE editing the sticky about FFR's favorite manga to be Pita Ten.

Hmm.

I could've, but I didn't, because I respect the integrity of FFR's forum system too much to inflate the importance of my opinion of what's good and what isn't via stickies.

Also I did the Pita-Ten thing as a joke because we never formally held a vote about it. If I did that after we had picked something then yes, that would've been wrong of me to do.

It's at the top of the page again anyway thanks to the spamming user's pointless post, so whatever.

Okay, I like to see other people's opinions on anime, it's mainly how I get recommendations.

But, geez. 300+ episodes? It can't be that good. (and then you say it is)

I would watch it if it wasn't so long. If I watched 4 episodes a day (personal limit), it would take about 3 months. I'm just not a person for that anymore (DBZ, but thats the past)

Plus, I don't have enough drive space. :P Besides, I have plenty other animes to watch which I can handle (up to 50 eps)

kthnx

One Piece is not one of my favorite animes, but it is a good show that I enjoy watching.

Most long animes do have a tendency of sucking after long periods of time. However, this has survived that test and has lasted far longer than most while retaining the same quality. You should give it a chance instead of dismissing it so easily. Many people in this thread has already said that this anime is of top quality.

There's only one time in One Piece where I've ever had that "ARE THEY STILL ON NAMEK / IN SOUL SOCIETY" moments, and it only lasted four episodes.

Then again, walking through a desert wasn't meant to be easy.

Sure, why not. Note that I normally stray away from anime. Not that I have anything against, but never really got into it. MMOs got me whipped >_>

It's odd that I never posted this in here.

I have a 30-episode challenge with this show. It's kinda like those telemarketers who do a 30-day money-back guarantee, except I can't return time.

Everybody I've recommended this show to and who have begun watching it has seen it through to its finish. Even the ones who initially told me it wasn't very good (believe me, it's not just people on FFR). Here's what I say to them:

"If you watch the first thirty episodes of One Piece, you will want to watch the rest. I guarantee it."

There's a reason I've chosen up to episode 30. At episode 30, the initial crewmembers are all introduced. Therefore, it's a fitting time for you to decide whether or not you want to continue. The first 30 episodes are introductions. The rest of the series is the continuation of the story. The story runs throughout the first 30 episodes as well, of course. Just that the adventure truly begins once he has a crew.

My fellow students have followed the 50 episode challenge and failed to realize how great this show is.

They need to die in a car fire.
