Also, thank you for hosting the official again, mad motivation to play. 10th Tournament was my first (Im usually a stepmania player), and I hit a brickwall for years - but I skill boosted in that tourny. Hoping for the same this year! Keeping in mind I have less than negative musical talent (took me years to even tap in rhythm or even recognise rhythm properly - I played by watching the arrows till my friend said 'why don't you tap to rhythm?' Me: '?????????'.

Can I request D3? Honestly, I am terrible at this and have good scores on short files with not a lot of complicated patterns. I would like to stay in te tournament at least until round 3 lol

D4 will demolish me even though i have been prcticing.

Sure but then I'll just have to take everyone else's requests for divisions which means we're just going to end up with a 1 division tournament. So lets just do away with them all together now and let the best man win.

Those of you guys that are requesting division changes because you feel like you will lose or underperform in the division that you rightfully belong in: you're being incredibly rude/selfish compared to those who are trying to work their asses off and improve for the purpose of weathering the storm that this tournament is going to bring. I'm proud to see certain players in each division working hard to improve (some of you guys in D4/D5/D6 have been playing quite a bit - don't think I don't see some of you guys in the EMG Rivalry), and that's the kind of attitude you need/want to have for these tournaments.

@Kanzas: Even if you were misplaced (which at the quickest of glances, you're not), the attitude that you're bringing is not deserving of any sort of accommodation. You don't get to "stay" in the tournament until round 3, you need to work for it. The preview video is out - you saw what kind of files that you could practice to potentially do a bit better on the D4; get off your butt and work for it. You're not the only one with the odds stacked against you, and you're far from the only one who can make the necessary improvements to perform well.

Kanzas, if it makes you feel somewhat better, I have played FFR for over 11 years now, I have been in D4 since my 4th year, every year I am out pre round 4, but I do not ask to be put in D3 because I am capable of even making it past the first round, the people making these placements know what they are doing, and they would not put you in a division that you do not have the potential to be able to handle, think of the official tournament of being a way to push yourself to the limits of your play, not to be able to easilly make it to the end just to get prizes. Tournaments are not about the prize, its about the challenge. Best of luck

kanzas, up until yesterday, i wasn't capable of d4 worthy scores either. I have d4 worthy scores recorded from 4 years ago. that means i get put in d4 whether i like it or not. do i think i should be in d4? if you'd asked me before yesterday, i'd have said no because my skill level was anywhere near that.

but just from practicing a bunch, i'm perfectly capable again. am i high d4? will i make it to the end? of course not. but i still belong in d4 as much as i hate to admit it.

at this point, honestly, if i got moved to d3 (which wouldn't happen, but hypotheticals), i'd probably request to be put back in d4 because that's where i belong.

I'm not actually expecting to be placed in D3, guys. I know I'm in D4 for good, and I will try my darnedest as I always do! If I go out R1 or make top 16 or better it's because I tried my best and then some. It's not about "getting off my butt" because I'm never lazy. If I were being serious about a lower division request I probably would of PMd someone and stated about 100 reason why I should have been placed lower, but I didn't and I won't. Sure, my scores that pit in D4 are from 8 months ago or longer, and my laptop is all I can work with until I get a new setup and mech kb, but I worked for my scores and I'll continue to do so as I have always.
