Default funmonkey54

Dunno how many of you are still friends with him (funmonkey54/Charlie) or have known him well enough in the past, but he's been a cool guy and good contributor over the years to FFR. He got in a car accident either last night or earlier today. For any of you that are spiritually inclined to do so, do pray for him. For anyone else, feel free to drop by his profile and wish him a good recovery/words of encouragement. He seems to be doing alright at the moment, but it was pretty bad from what I've heard.

Most recent update:
Quote:
This is Charlie's mom. Basically what happened was his truck got scooped up and over by a wind pocket. His truck is totaled. He was saved by his seat belt (which also kept him hanging upside down since the truck was flipped.) He has a lot of scratches, cuts and bruises and is very sore (and getting sorer by the minute). His glasses were obliterated so we brought him home to keep on eye on him and take care of his needs (new glasses, meds, etc). He really cannot see much at all and his hands are extremely sore and swollen from the many cuts and bruises they sustained. Please keep him in your prayers as he heals.
not sure if there were any pictures but I guarantee Charlie wasn't taking them.

Oh wow. I've never been in a car accident of any kind (yet) and I can feel what it'd be like to be in one. Especially something that bad. There's a reason why I ALWAYS put my seat belt on. If it's not on, I put it on by habit. Probably the best habit I have at the moment.

For those who don't wear a seat belt, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WEAR ONE! Charlie did, and he's still alive. In very much pain, but alive. I might not talk to him almost at all, but if there's anyone that I hope for a speedy recovery, it's Charlie; One of the nicest users in FFR history.

My thoughts and prayers go to Charlie and his family, and whenever he's able to get back on FFR, someone remind him to comment on my profile (whenever he's able to get on and stuff again) to let me know that he's okay. Get well soon bro.

Damn, that sounds bad. Yeah, I have been ingrained with wearing my seat belt for as long as I can remember. I can probably say, from reading his injuries, that if he didn't wear his seat belt, he'd be dead. Get a speedy recovery Charlie, peeps here at FFR worried for ya man.

Oh my...

It's been a while since I last talked with Charlie, but I know he's really chill. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Hope he recovers fast and clean

I'm alive.

I'm doing everything I can to stay positive, but my whole body is covered in cuts. Because the wind was strong enough to throw my truck after it started hydroplaning, it should come as no surprise that it was strong enough to spin glass around me while I was trapped in the truck. Luckily, I was pulled out without the gas tank exploding, since I had a full tank, the truck kept running after it flipped, and the tank was leaking. I also had camping equipment in my toolbox including a few lighters and some tinder. So yeah.

I'm in constant pain, but thankful to be alive. I'll post a picture of how it landed when I can charge my iPod again. I'm under surveillance to make sure I don't have brain damage or anything weird and they took me from the scene to my home, so I didn't have a chance to grab any chargers.

That's nuts, I couldn't imagine myself being in the same situation. Happy to hear you're okay.
