(If they actually can, please correct me, I might have missed something).
"If the MP3 meets bit rate requirement but the original sound quality is bad, we may require a better MP3."

Sound quality (a far more subjective thing) is clearly mentioned in the submission rules, not song choice.
Raw MIDI sounds are poor quality by definition.

Just clearing that up.

Okay, VALLISTA looks/feels amazing, I'll just say that. I knew LG could step but godDAMN, son.

Also I can totally see this as a bmah file as well. Wow. And that's a big compliment, trust me.

Faint Breath is also compositionally pretty amateur, what with the recycled beats and default fruityloops bass sounds and stuff. However you can tell at least a minimum of effort was put into making it sound like a well-produced song. There's dynamic changes and a variety of instrumentation... it's pretty listenable despite its shortcomings and I have no problem with that kind of song in game.
Really appreciate the comment, but I'm gonna badger you on the defaults because I know how to do more than just use basic samples.

But yeah, I couldn't help but feel like DMB was made just for the sake of an R1 Music Producer title -- not that I'm in any position to talk, I mean... I kinda half-assed on Faint Breath's chart just to get it in, but the song itself wasn't entirely created with intent of just being in game. [shameless self promotion] Hilariously enough, Sentence (see Soundcloud in signature) is something that I wanted to use to get Music Producer on ThirdStyle, but I just couldn't figure out how I wanted it stepped [/shameless self promotion].

As far as the files for this week, I've only had the chance to play VALLISTA. It's pretty hard...

EDIT: I do kinda feel bad for Jake, though -- he actually asked for my help to try and liven up his instrumentation a bit, but I didn't have appropriate instruments in my EWQLSO VST to fit his composition... *sigh*

wow, so much hate for a simple jack file. I played it b4 on our team engine, and thought it was quite good. Not a fan of jacks, but at least nicer than CSGS, fei or bit blue. i'd have a file like that in game over something like Louder! any day.

I don't see any issues DMB song/file itself, or judgement process about the song/file.

Only under extreme circumstances is a simfile author allowed to pull his or her file. Otherwise, it remains as it is.
