I agree. That should be the standard for keyboard files.

it'll be less dense for index files, but chances are more fast streams will be present to even it out anyways.

I don't know how to explain how indexing nowadays works. For index, we go by the ITG pad scale. If you would like an example of each difficulty, I'll provide a song. It's on YouTube somewhere for each of these charts.

13- Summer Speedy Remix
14- Stamina: Crush, Speed: Isolated 00 Princess
15- Stamina: Tarantula, Speed: Speedcore artists aren't in it for the money
16- Stamina: Another Planet, Speed: Oh Delia
17- Stamina: Alive in the Darkness, Speed: Connect 1986
18- Laser Cannon Deth Sentence
19- Bokura no 16bit Warz
20- Sigatrev
21- Sigatrev expert
22- Call of the Hound Expert
25- Guren no Yumiya
28- Disregard
30- Stronger

BPM, how many measures in a stream, etc, are all factors of rating a song. ITG songs have been rated like this for a while now and this is what pretty much every index player I know plays now. Ask Nathan, Eze, and AJ about it. This is essentially how we determine index files. Basing it off of NPS is silly and doesn't determine how difficult a song is. There are more things to factor in rather than just NPS. There's no problem with having jump stream index files, in fact I encourage it. But you have understand that the index style has progressed. If we want to play accuracy stuff, we'll play the thousands of 10's-19's that have been made by pad authors, considering all of the files are index friendly. But if we want to play fast stuff, we always end up resorting to rate-modding songs and it gets boring. The purpose of this pack is to create files that the index community now will play. Everyone I know that started out on index started out on 14-16's and now they're passing 22's-25's.

I apologize if my explaining is bad, but I really don't know what else to say.

I'm wondering how fast crossover files would be received.

I came up with these kinds of ratings for DDR files on rates (debatable):
Fascination MAXX Challenge 2.0: 25
PSMO 2.0 rate: 25
Valkyrie Dimension Challenge CMOD 1.5: 25
Healing D Vision Challenge CMOD 1.7: 25
Fascination Eternal Love Mix Challenge 2.0: 26

It is possible to assign ratings to rates like that, and I think a few fast crossover files would be awesome.

I think it's best if rate mods are not rated. They're just two weird to rate, lol. Speaking of crossovers, you should definitely try to step something for this.

Alright then, might step something like a 240 bpm crossover file. Speeds above 240 for crossovers are basically crapshoots if they're turns less than 8 notes

it's not *that* big of a deal. it's not like it affects the quality of your simfile. what it does affect, though, is the presentation.

we can make index files and give all of them difficulty ratings of 10 and not many people here would care. BUT, if you want to advertise this pack in other communities, then the difficulty rating scale should match their conventions. would you rather a dozen people play your file, or 200 people?

I'm still surprised a dozen people play this game, much less 200 people.

I have a few files in mind for this.

I was going to make a huge post, but I don't feel like arguing/getting into debates about ratings since they are all suggestive anyway so I'm just gonna reply with "lol"

Received the files Caliber and Dossar, will post reviews when the judges and I test them out. Probably not until later tonight/tomorrow. Updated OP as well.
Also, requesting thread title change to "Indexjawns (Submissions open)"

Think I'm going to have to retract my interest in this. I don't think our ideals are similar enough for me to get behind this.
