Default What happened to FFR Resonance

I remembered when you can upload you simfiles/stepfiles and play it in the site. It was so much fun that I miss it. I mean, I've had so many files I've made individually for people who were into harder songs on a dance pad. And felt right for computer. I mean I liked a similar site, but in reality I missed Resonance because it was fun to make files for it.

What do you all think about it.

A certain person forgot to plug in the HD, LOL.

I forget the difference between Resonance and FFR R2. Was it just Resonance allowed user created files?

When the game isn't fun for you anymore, take a break. It's not a job, nobody here is professional and getting paid to play and force themselves to constantly improve... it's a game.

If I remember correctly, R2 was a less graphicaly poslished version of what the FFR game currently looks like while Resonance was visually very close (in game) to stepmania 3.9. Resonance had a huge simfile database that everybody could add to with their own simfiles.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Unfortunately it is impossible to bring back, because (I believe) it broke most of our permissions by allowing the distribution of music files.

FFR R2 was meant to be the "second revision" of FFR, with stuff like freezes and multiple difficulties, but it had like 20 songs total (all with permission) and sucked ass so nobody played it. Cool menu music though.

Yeah our database and Resonance where disabled back in like 2009 or so because FFR was getting attention from major labels and even Konami themselves. It would not have been a good idea to have thousands upon thousands of unlicensed songs on the site just being downloaded all willy nilly.

Tass said at the time that the files still existed and that it was possible to try and set it up so people could download their own sims and use it as private storage, but then the site went down and things got a little weird.

It kinda sucks because ZiV deleted what files of mine I had on there and with BMS having crashed and burned 5 times since I've been active there is very little of my content that actually still exist. Sorta offputting but those old files where probably grade A garbage anyhow.
