Re: FFR File Submission Tips
@Midnight: What's so hard about that file?
[23][14][23][14] 32nd jumps, not even that hard since they're not high BPM -_- |

...Which is a ****ing terrible idea, unless they are also looked over in sm/DDR and given valid critiqué. If an FFR conversion of the batch was to happen, it should only be used as a secondary measure of quality control imo. How will newer step artists know what they are doing wrong when they step a file if it isn't able to be slowed down and evaluated, measure at a time? Playing a file once or twice and judging would probably lead to less thorough scrutiny, less guidance to newer steppers and an overall bad system. //2c

Re: FFR File Submission Tips
I think iironiic meant to say that judging on a separate FFR engine should supplement judging as normally done on SM/DDream, not necessarily serve as a replacement.

Re: FFR File Submission Tips
@Middie, I would've said the same thing, but I'm pretty paranoid about the community jumping down my throat over little things now.
edit: actually, to more make this about me complaining about the file pattern, and not typing up a rant etc, I'll just say I agree. |

Re: FFR File Submission Tips
A 222 bpm 64th gap has a pretty good chance at being a zero frame interval, lmfao.
Then you have 192nds..... yeah, zero frame intervals guaranteed |

Re: FFR File Submission Tips
Hmm..
The song I'm stepping has this weird roll section @ 145 BPM.. It's mainly some 64ths and weirdly placed 192nds. Will that cause framer problems? |

Re: FFR File Submission Tips
Depends on what you mean by "weirdly place 192nds". Those are most likely going to be zero frame intervals.

Re: FFR File Submission Tips
A good way to tell what frame intervals jacks may cause is to look at the time difference between the two arrows. If the difference is under 0.0333s, it may cause a 0-framer; anywhere between 0.0333 and 0.0666, possible 1-framer, etc.

Re: FFR File Submission Tips
The 64th going into the 8th jump could possibly make a hand (anything above 112.5 bpm 64ths has a chance at zero frame interval), that part would probably play like 24ths or some 32nds on FFR's placements.

3. It's not really a rant, as more of me trying (most likely failing) to explain why it bothers me so much. Quote:

I find this really clever and I do actually like it, just keep it to more artsy charts like the chart this idea stemmed from: Scatta on the Dragon's Fury Engine. I also would love to see more charts with spins <3 But that's irrelevant. The thing I noticed is that you need to worry about smaller details more than the bigger ones or your chart gets ripped apart. |
