@Midnight: What's so hard about that file?

[23][14][23][14] 32nd jumps, not even that hard since they're not high BPM -_-

That sounds like a great idea, but if files aren't scrutinised in sm/DDReam, we might as well get 2 or 3 judges that are capable of sdg'ing FGOs and just let them give a yes or no to each file...

...Which is a ****ing terrible idea, unless they are also looked over in sm/DDR and given valid critiqué. If an FFR conversion of the batch was to happen, it should only be used as a secondary measure of quality control imo.
How will newer step artists know what they are doing wrong when they step a file if it isn't able to be slowed down and evaluated, measure at a time? Playing a file once or twice and judging would probably lead to less thorough scrutiny, less guidance to newer steppers and an overall bad system.

I think iironiic meant to say that judging on a separate FFR engine should supplement judging as normally done on SM/DDream, not necessarily serve as a replacement.

See: Round 1 of the past official tournament. At least a good portion of D4 all said the same thing.

@Middie, I would've said the same thing, but I'm pretty paranoid about the community jumping down my throat over little things now.

edit: actually, to more make this about me complaining about the file pattern, and not typing up a rant etc, I'll just say I agree.

A 222 bpm 64th gap has a pretty good chance at being a zero frame interval, lmfao.

Then you have 192nds..... yeah, zero frame intervals guaranteed

Hmm..

The song I'm stepping has this weird roll section @ 145 BPM..

It's mainly some 64ths and weirdly placed 192nds. Will that cause framer problems?

Depends on what you mean by "weirdly place 192nds". Those are most likely going to be zero frame intervals.

A good way to tell what frame intervals jacks may cause is to look at the time difference between the two arrows. If the difference is under 0.0333s, it may cause a 0-framer; anywhere between 0.0333 and 0.0666, possible 1-framer, etc.

The 64th going into the 8th jump could possibly make a hand (anything above 112.5 bpm 64ths has a chance at zero frame interval), that part would probably play like 24ths or some 32nds on FFR's placements.

2. Fixed.
3. It's not really a rant, as more of me trying (most likely failing) to explain why it bothers me so much.

See this is ignorance from being in D6 (I mean this in a polite manner but I lack the ability to phrase it differently.) I do agree it's not the hardest thing in the world, but it's mostly the fact of butchering the flow. The entire rest of the chart but this section actually flows amazingly well. I at first despised this chart but it's grown on me. I just think that it would have been better suited as either a jumpstream that's generic, or just continue the trills. I understand the 32nds are because they're there, but it just is so obnoxious to use such control on this one section compared to other 10s.

I'm no stranger to being one of the people who jump down people's throats, and it's just going to happen. Better off to just try to approach it calmly than make a fuss of it.

I find this really clever and I do actually like it, just keep it to more artsy charts like the chart this idea stemmed from: Scatta on the Dragon's Fury Engine.

I also would love to see more charts with spins <3 But that's irrelevant.

The thing I noticed is that you need to worry about smaller details more than the bigger ones or your chart gets ripped apart.
