Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
I do see BestMte AAA on Glaciate (28) in D1. Makes me wonder what's the cutoff too. I've also seen people with 150-200 AAAs in D1 but none of them were particularly impressive.

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
You have 3 goods on a 35, you've gotten scores on other engines that D1 players don't get, you have multiple SDGs in the 20's. I'm sorry but you are not D1 anymore. This is the official tournament, things are slightly different than in a user tournament. User tournaments don't generally get the people who literally can't AAA anything or can only get the really low ones. The official does.

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
just see getting promoted as a good thing, and that this is a time for improvement. that's how i'm going into this tourney. i want to get as good as i can from it. Instead of focusing on trying to prove yourself better than others, focus on improving yourself, and you will see progress.

Either that or it's something this person literally just got and we haven't seen yet. But again, this is why we told you all that placements aren't final yet and it's still being worked on. Everyone's getting a recheck for new scores because there have been a few people who have gotten better scores since being placed. |

Stop complaining. Each round is a week long. You have plenty of time to improve.

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
Anyone complaining about Glaciate: Glaciate is massively overrated at 28 - chances are if they have a SDG on it and it's the only thing they have, then them being in D1 is no mistake.
EDIT: this is just blanketing the Glaciate argument; there are a number of D1 players with that being their good score, which goes without saying. A perfect score on it is a bit more concerning, though. Last edited by TC_Halogen; 10-1-2014 at 11:23 AM.. |

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
Anyway, placement issues should be brought to PMs, but it would be best to wait until later when we have the time to finish up going through the people that have no decision at all and re-run everyone.
Edit: For that UF you can go into D6 and we can just not discuss it at all Last edited by psychoangel691; 10-1-2014 at 11:29 AM.. |

Yeah but I'm one of those people when it comes to D2.

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
Im personally split as well, I had a few freakish weeks which easily pushed me into d6 territory, though I've now not played seriously in about a month and a half. Given the way things typically do, and should work D6 is likely appropriate for me, however I can prett confidently say Im so inconsistent that I could be mid d5 one day and mid d6 another day. Sorry for my complex case and please do consider my replays.
here is a pretty important run on a song I got where I forgot to save the replay(), this was back at august 22nd? That was probably the last time I was able to go so ham and haven't touched that skill level since. GL Last edited by Untimely Friction; 10-1-2014 at 11:33 AM.. |

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
That doesn't make you D1. You're scoring on things that a D1 player can't. I'm not going to continue on here. You can PM AJ about it. He's the final say in everything for the official. I'm just trying to relay what I can since he's working.

Really no matter what the division system sucks. It's impossible to get everyone into a spot where they fit in. Like in my case I can't stand that I'm D5 because I can't score on high FMOs nor any FGO. Hell I don't even do well at a lot of the low or mid ones either. But because I had a select few that I'm good at, I'm stuck D5 and can't even argue it. Like there's someone D4 that has a messy 30 good score FC on Reality, but has nothing in the FMO range that merits D5, nor anything else in the FGO range. But I can't even FC Reality without mashing some lol. I was actually just telling the events team that I wanted to try to revamp placement guidelines though. There are some divisions that have wider gaps than others and I really think it can be evened out a little bit more. Especially now with more and more people hitting D7. This would be something that had to happen after this official though. It's going to take a lot of time to try to come up with a good system. Last edited by psychoangel691; 10-1-2014 at 11:47 AM.. |

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
Yeah, since placements (well, last night to be exact) I did get a few more AAAs. Fire (only a 45, but still) and also Case Closed [54] is my new best. I'm just glad this doesn't put into D4 by any means. I'm gonna die in D3 anyways. There are people with 1200+ FCs and 10+ Tier points... Phew... RIP

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
Indeed, that is true. They don't particularly have AAA ability, from their stat bars, but like Puppy said, until I see them play it is a wee bit intimidating lol This being my first OT and all. Top 16 is my goal, Top 8 is a myth. ha

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament
Am I the only one that gets genuinely agitated when people complain about their placements?
If it were me, and I got put in a division higher than I thought I was, I'd be excited. "People think I'm that good? Wow!" Stop trying to win at a lower division and try to get better. |
