Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 5!
EDIT: Ninja'd
How it works is that in the event that the next round is a prize round, which it indeed is! Then players that have tied right at the elimination line will play a tie breaker song, as well as the next round song. Tiebreakers are given on the same day the new round starts. Assuming it's how it's been done before, the players in the tiebreaker have one day to submit a score. The person with the highest score on the tiebreaker stays above the elimination line while the person below will be eliminated, regardless on what score they get in the next round. |

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 5!
Salitz, i know that was essentially directed at me
Basically what I'm saying is that people who DID wait deliberately to get their scores are the ones who i say "too bad so sad" to. Halogen and I mentioned it earlier that it was a risky tactic, and basically, this is the price you pay for waiting. on the other hand, if you tried your hardest and lag/site issues kept you down (more the former than the latter would be a more acceptable excuse) then that's just unfortunate, and I'm sorry. |

Alright, I suppose that's more understandable... but I still have to disagree with you. It's a legitimate tactic (annoying as it may be), and just because they chose to wait and got screwed over doesn't make it justified. Problems with the site should never be a factor in the outcome of a tourney. Totally not what I was trying to do btw. I've just been so frustrated dealing with this shit all week, it's starting to wear on me. Looking at the dashboard now, I probably wouldn't have made it anyway XD Anyways, I'm out. Pretty satisfied with making it this far in D5... could have done without the rage of this round though. Good luck to you and the rest of D5. |

Well I'll say that I'm in before a last hour attack into top 8 for D4.

The only thing that I know for sure is that synth is working on it. If it keeps up for a bit in the next round we might have to postpone this tournament. I would just host the files up on the DF engine but people use R^2 and R^3 which we don't have.

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 5!
Alright, there's no way I can have a 24 hour tiebreaker with the way the site is running nor really just have this tournament in general. I'm going to go ahead and postpone it as much as I don't want to. The issue will hopefully be resolved sometime tomorrow and as soon as it is we'll resume the tournament. Sorry guys.

Hopefully it's resolved quickly and I can finally get a day of FFR practice in rather than SM. Best of luck with the issue. In the meantime, super hype for next round guaiz? Last edited by Xx{Midnight}xX; 02-27-2013 at 12:08 AM.. |

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 5!
It keeps going up and down (mostly down). During an official tournament it is unexcusable that you're just letting the round pass without giving an opportunity to those who were penalized by this problem. What matters in a tournament is skill. If you need to extend the round by a few days, or even a whole week (so the deadlines aren't shifted over), you should do it. I, just as salitz, was screwed over. I had the potential to place in top 8 and couldn't even try doing so. And i don't see how extending deadlines is unfair to people who already placed? They will also have the same time to try again, if they wish.
Chances are i could have been eliminated this round anyway, but i can't accept to lose for something that i have no control over.

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 5!
so what's the story then: is there something gonna happen for 8 who were elim'd? or is round still active? or neither?

On another note vROFL has been given out to the top 8 aside from those involved in a tiebreaker situation. The round is not active. As I mentioned previously the site was never down for any extended period of time, while the up and down was a nuisance it was still possible to play the round. Had the site actually gone down for a full day or for several hours at one time I would have extended. The fact is we're going to deal with things beyond our control just like the engine lag. Should we have stopped because that was affecting people? Had extensions? This is why rounds are a week long it gives time for things like people's outside lives or issues like this one.
