So yeah, 9/10 anime, only because as much as I love fast-paced anime, some parts went by a little too quickly for development in some parts that I wished happened a bit more.

I'd put it at 8/10. The first few episodes are kinda bleh to me. But it's still a great anime. I'll probably shotgun it one night to see if that helps me like it more. I tend to like anime more when I am able to just immerse in the entire thing in one night.

Comparing this to something like dragonball z, naruto, one piece or anything else Shounen is so wrong. If you really had to then it would be miles ahead of its genre.

It's about as good as those titles or worse actually. DBZ in specific. Maybe marginally better than Naruto.

It's nothing to boast about. It wasn't special. 6/10 seems appropriate to me, and that's probably giving it a little. It's just that if you compare it to other series it feels lack-lustre. The characters didn't feel unique, and the story was probably a 5 or 6 out of 10, even without the filler coming into play. I don't expect anybody to agree with me, I just felt that Trigger could have aimed way higher than they actually did.

Kill la kill takes all the standard shonen tropes and exaggerates them to the level of absurdity, to the point where its closer to satirizing typical shonen anime than it is to being one. Comparing kill la kill to typical shonen crap is like comparing Stephen Colbert to Bill O'reilly. They may appear similar at first glance and may even say a lot of the same stuff, but anyone who understands what they're watching can see that they're practically opposites.

There are other enjoyable things about kill la kill that set it apart, but they're harder to explain and more subjective.

Binge-watched this over the past few days between working on reports, slightly disappointed with the ending and overall predictability of most plot 'surprises' but was pretty damn hilarious nonetheless

Debating working out only chest and abs for the next two months and cosplaying Mikisugi at AN

yeah but in the end, it's shit and so is the rest of the genre, save maybe one or two titles. I'm not joking. Go watch it again and say that it didn't fuck around or pull shit out of its ass.

Maybe it's just that I've never watched an action/shounen I've really liked besides Gurren Lagann, but this one wasn't special by any means. no I'm kidding, I'm sure there are some good ones out there. I was trying to make a point by using extremes.
