Left and Right
Does anyone actually have their arrows going right/left?
I was messing around with it, and realized something. When you choose left/right, you're also changing the patterns of the arrows. 1234 - normal 4321 - mirror 2413 - left 3142 - right Although, you have to change the Settings of your keys for left and right. Basically, you could press Ctrl + Alt + (Arrow Key) to change the display. Then you could play all your favorite songs with different patterns. I didn't know this before. Just thought I'd put it out there incase other people didn't either. Edit: This works on the regular engine. I haven't tried it on the Velocity engine Last edited by Ninty64; 01-30-2011 at 02:54 AM.. |

Re: Left and Right
yeah, figured it out that the patterns changed when I did that a couple of years back. I just never knew which arrows were switched around or anything

Re: Left and Right
That's also a reason why mirror was implemented.
People wouldn't have to manually change their screen setup and then reconfigure their key settings - instead, they can just simply click "mirror" and it does the same thing (even if it wasn't implemented it's inevitable that other players would do this anyways). However, you shouldn't use left and right since that's not available on the engine. IMO anything that's given on the engine isn't cheating. |

Re: Left and Right
IMO i believe that Left and right should've stayed on the engine..
I dont undertsnad why we took it off?? was it cheating or something?.. I used it to AAA one song becuz of hardcore mental blocks. But Ninty we used to play with Ctrl + Alt + Arrow key back in the day before mirror was invented lol..

Re: Left and Right
It was seen as cheating because you were making things like one hand trills for example and it would make then two handed. So songs like blooddrunk would be 10x easier since it changed the ones hand trills.

Re: Left and Right
People forget that it made a larger percentage of songs harder by adding in one handed trills. I liked the option of playing a harder/different version of a lot of boring files.
But oh well

Re: Left and Right
They obviously didnt use it to make a file harder though. People are trying for ranks so they are only going to use it to make a file easier for them to get a better rank on a song. Why would they want to make the file harder for them to improve their rank on.

Re: Left and Right
I mean, there were some people that genuinely used this feature to make a favourable song more fun by playing a newer/harder chart for it.

Re: Left and Right
Personally, I know it would have been extra work, but leaving left and right turns in game, and having a section on the Level Stats that had left/right stats in it as well. Like if you AAA Frictional Nevada with a right turn mod, it would turn the color of the song Red or Green or something. That way people know they did not AAA the song on regular or mirror. That's what I think, but yes it would be a lot of work.
